Good Performer with adequate options

I guess we all are accepting LCD but I am not convinced it is better vivid/contrast/color characteristics than the Trinitron. Probably viewed resolution is better. Certainly space (land area) is better. Picture quality seems to depend a lot on transmission quality and antenna vs service hookup.

I needed a small TV to watch while I cook. I purchased one of these yesterday, and my husband and I are very pleased with its picture and sound quality--even though we don't have cable and the McMansion next store blocks signals. It is much better than the recently purchased Samsung HD LCD that cost more, had intollerably tinny sound (like a 1950s am radio), frequently lost signals, and is being returned. Setup of the Sony takes at least 50 minutes, due to the set's slow scanning for available stations, but is worth the wait. Pictures from the VHS channel stations is not optimal (analogy broadcasts are snowy and digital broadcasts sometimes cut-out), so I have ordered an RCA smart antenna (so I don't have to move the antenna when I change channels), and am crossing my fingers that this will fix the reception problem. Reception from the UVS channel stations is already very good. This Sony's reception from all of the over-the-air channels is a vast improvement over reception on the old Sony analog TV when used with the same amplified, rabbit-ears type antenna. The counter stand design is a bit cludgy (and looks like the set could be easily tipped over), but I can live with it.

It is a great HDTV for an extra TV (easily portable, as well). Not quite as clear as my two Panasonic Plasmas, but very, very good, none the less. I did have to make some picture adjustments to get it the way I like the picture to look. It sits next to my computer monitor, and uses a small rabbit ear antenna (as do my Panasonics). NO RECEPTION PROBLEMS AT ALL.

I bought this to use on the kitchen counter. Because of it's slim design it is the ideal size for the countertop, it actually frees up space even though it has a much bigger screen that the TV it replaces. It's sleek modern design looks good whether it's turned on or off. Excellent picture, features. Typical excellent Sony quality.

I purchased this set for my kitchen and it fit in beautifully. It requires considerably less space than my older CRT based set, even though the screen is considerably larger. The set was easy to setup and use and has a very good picture. I like the fact that it doesn't require a separate external power supply and plugs directly into a 110 outlet.

ordered black tv, assumed entire tv would be in black, but back side of bezel is white. It is acceptable, but not sure if this is how tv is supposed to look.

Well, let me be the first to write a review of the 19" BRAVIA M Series LCD Flat Panel HDTV. I was in the market for a small TV for my office and, already being a satisfied owner of the Sony Bravia 40 KDL 40W3000, I naturally checked-out what Sony had to offer. After much research and after reading the reviews from owners of other manufacture brands (Samsung, Toshiba, etc) I settled on the tried-and-true Sony brand to deliver the goods. And deliver they do. Great picture, Great Sound, Great Style. While you may pay a little more for Sony products, you definitely get value for money. I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for great small TV.
