It does the job well....

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Overall this is a good microwave. We had a similiar model from same company. Just be careful not to slam the microwave door to hard. That is how we broke last one and the cost to replace the door was close to the cost of buying a new one. This is how we ended up buying this new one. So be kind to your microwave door.

You could install yourself, but need 2 people Unit is quiet and powerful as a replacement to 10 year old unit. Take 10 minutes to scan the user manual.

While the microwave has a fairly noisy exhaust fan, it works and looks great in our kitchen. Its a very nice product.

I work long days, I cook several meals on the weekends and freeze them so I can reheat during the week. It does is great job, reheating the prepaired dish. The noise of the exhaust is loud because it pushes more air then a smaller unit. I pretty happy with this.

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

All of you who have complained about the NOISY FAN, have had a BAD INSTALLATION: Suspended APPLIANCES MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED; if not, you will hear vibrations when the fan operates ... this is true of convection ovens, and wall ovens as well. Also, if you are venting outside, make sure your installer has used the vent guide, and not just leaned the unit against the wall ... if not, THEN you will hear the fan ... !!! The fan is a smidgen louder than most ... but most certainly NOT loud enough to be heard on the second floor ...! How can this exact same model, in WHITE, receive stellar reviews without so much as a mention of loudness? Installation was not difficult; however, the brackets and bolts did NOT fit into the holes of the previous microwave (this was a replacement for us).

Really an unexceptional microwave

This microwave was bad from the get-go--the buttons are hard to figure out, and it heats unevenly. The latest was when I turned on the exhaust fan and it wouldn't turn off--and this on a three-month old appliance. (I had to unplug it to turn the fan off--and about 2 minutes after I plugged it back in, the fan went back on again, all on its own.) I always had a GE and am getting one again asap.

Unbearably noisy, really bad door hinges

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Although Consumer Reports gave good marks to LG microhoods, this one is horrible. Door hinges are so loose that it closes crooked. I wasn't sure it was safe. Sounds similar to tornado siren - it's alarming - and very loud. Can't use it if someone's sleeping b/c it wakes them up when they're upstairs. Haven't tried to use it much to evaluate function b/c it's too loud. Rack is too low to fit most containers under. Placement of Start/Stop buttons is not intuitive, I always hit Stop instead of Start, which clears it. Had service out, guy said this is normal for LG. Trying to get another brand.
