Comments about Klipsch Icon X Series 8" Powered Black Subwoofer:

The Klipsch is a good sounding subwoofer. Installs easily, easy to set up with its digital menu. It's forward firing and non-adjustable which isn't an issue for me, I prefer it that way. The bass is a little "boomey", not as much as other subwoofers, but not as clean as, say, the Martin Logan Dynamo, a subwoofer in a similar price range. In fact, I use the Martin Logan subwoofer with a Martin Logan Fresco as the center channel in one room, and the Klipsch subwoofer in a different room with different acoustics; both sound really good. I don't think the Klipsch is a [$] subwoofer, though; [...]. If you want a really crisp, clean subwoofer with the flexibility of down firing or front firing, go with the Martin Logan; if you want a front firing, not as crisp subwoofer, the Klipsch is a good choice (if you can get the price down).
