I love the quality and operation of the refrigerator. It is consistently the same temperature - it does not fluctuate and I don't have the cold spots that plagued my old refrigerator. The ice maker is a bit noisy as others have mentioned, but it does not bother me. My trick is to shut it off when it is full and then only restart when it is starting to run low. I love having the various shelves in the freezer so I don't need to constantly move items out of the way. The downside of the cabinet depth style is there is barely enough storage in the freezer for me and this is a one person household. However that is one of the pitfalls of cabinet depth and I knew that before purchasing and I love the look of the French door style.

Bought this in 2015 for our kitchen remodel and wanted the counter depth design. Fridge has nice lines, is quiet, and has adequate storage space. Having the water dispenser inside the fridge along the wall instead of in the door not only makes it look cleaner, but gives you more room inside as the ice and water dispenser don't cannibalize door storage space.
Problem with water dripping started almost immediately but for some reason we figured it would go away with use. We have resorted to putting a washcloth or paper towel wedged under the crisper to catch drips that come one every few minutes throughout the day. Water was leaking into freezer and onto new hardwoods so we called Kitchenaid service to get it fixed under warranty.
3 service calls later, the dispenser still drips and now my ice maker overflows water. Problems are getting worse. 3rd service call was a different company and they punted to Kitchenaid saying they can do nothing for me and that some of these just leak. Kitchenaid is now sending the previous service company out to see if they can fix it. I have little to no faith that doing the same thing over and over is going to get a different result.
Unfortunately, Kitchenaid service has been clear about what they CANNOT do for me. I am still waiting to see what they CAN do. Although a small dispenser drip is not the end of the world, it's not something I would expect (or accept) in a brand new appliance made in the USofA.

Comments about KitchenAid Architect Series II Monochromatic Stainless Steel Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:

We purchased our refrigerator approx. 6 weeks ago as our old refrigerator decided it was time for change(broke). We are very happy that we purchased this product. Love the room it has and the water supply spout built in along with the Ice maker. Great produce trays!

Very nice counter-depth refrigerator

By

from Philadelphia, PA

Verified Buyer

Comments about KitchenAid Architect Series II Monochromatic Stainless Steel Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:

This refrigerator was the largest counter-depth one that I could find. The only issue is that you have to be careful to fully close the doors. One tends to stay open a bit. It does beep to let you know that it is open though.

Not Sure

By

from Los Angeles, CA

Verified Buyer

Comments about KitchenAid Architect Series II Monochromatic Stainless Steel Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:

There is moisture that drips from the bottom of the double refrigerator doors. It also pools in top of the bottom freezer and freezes, thus causing an obstruction for the freezer drawer to close. The temperature is way too cold in the refrigerator, freezing my produce, though it is set at the recommended temp. I recently turned down the temp so we will see if that helps. The fridge access and drawers is good; the freezer has nice pull out drawers, but I do feel it limits storage space in the freezer. Looks good from the outside.

Inside is Fine; Outside Is Aggravating

By

from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about KitchenAid Architect Series II Monochromatic Stainless Steel Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:

Very happy with the French doors, interior water and freezer on bottom. We do have multiple rust spots on exterior of fridge which is very aggravating. No one can provide any rationale as to why they are appearing. Wouldn't recommend as a result.

Nice and Roomy

By

from Petaluma, CA

Comments about KitchenAid Architect Series II Monochromatic Stainless Steel Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:

I've been using this refrigerator for a year now. It's nice and roomy plus offers filtered water.

The freezer on the bottom also makes it pretty easy to get to the ice maker or frozen goods.

All-in-all, this is a good fit for my kitchen. I did have to get the cabinet cutdown so I could fit the taller refrigerator into place. Counterdepth is perfect!

Epic Fail

By

from Atlanta, GA

Verified Buyer

Comments about KitchenAid Architect Series II Monochromatic Stainless Steel Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:

Purchased this refrigerator in 2010. Just finished paying $400+ to get the compressor replaced after only 6 years. This seems ridiculous to me. It is the most basic component of the refrigerator. If they can't make a compressor last more than 6 years, then I don't want it. Some other issues: Door seals started falling apart after 2-3 years. Drain pain was cracked after 2-3 years. Refrigerator compartment damper is very noisy, makes me wonder when it is going to fail. Water dispenser switch is sticking so that when you are done filling your glass and pull away, the water keeps coming out and makes a big mess. Freezer drawer tends to want to not close all the way, thus staying slightly open (just enough so you don't notice) and causing all your food to defrost. I could go on, but I think this is enough said, don't you?

Very Pleased with my KitchenAid Counter-Depth Refrigerator!

By

from Portland, OR

Verified Buyer

Comments about KitchenAid Architect Series II Monochromatic Stainless Steel Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:

The fridge looks great and works great. The counter depth model takes up less space on the outside yet still has plenty inside (in fact I like that I don't have recesses in the far back of the fridge which only ever seemed to attract things that would later be thrown out. I would highly recommend this fridge!

Deceitful sales propaganda

By

from Portland, OR

Verified Buyer

Comments about KitchenAid Architect Series II Monochromatic Stainless Steel Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:

I bought this because there was supposedly a "huge" rebate for buying a full kitchen suite. I bought all the necessary appliances, and then went to fill out the serial numbers the day after they were delivered. I was told I didn't qualify because I waited too long to give the serial numbers. I went to fill them in the next day after receiving them!! Apparently I was somehow supposed to know the serial numbers before I got the appliances. This was a total scam and I will not be purchasing Kitchenaid for my next kitchen...which by the way will be next month. I was basically tricked into paying more than I was told I would. Shameful!
