We needed a counter depth refrigerator and liked this one because it had the bottom freezer drawer. And it's a Kitchen Aid - a brand we trust. Our choices were limited because we needed white (lots of choices in stainless ... not everyone has stainless appliances but that's what manufacuturers are putting out there). The first few weeks was a lesson in 'How to Organize a Poorly Desinged Refrigerator'. Thank God we have a back up fridge in the garage. This thing can't hold enough food to feed a team of toddlers let alone a busy family of four with teenage boys! Now, after 18 months of use, the bottom tray (for meats and cheeses) is broken. The parts to this tray are plastic and poorly designed. I hate this refrigerator and regret the purchase.

The worst part of the fridge which makes it destined for failure is the location of the condenser. Underneath the fridge, and below the condenser is an unnecessary piece of cardboard which holds an uncanny amount of dust.
In order to perform preventative maintenance on this fridge me and another two other individuals had to lift it up and support the unit on 2x4s first two inches up, then four inches off the ground. The cardboard was unnecessary and had to be ripped off in order to clean it. when the cardboard was removed there was dust caked up, preventing all airflow.
Such design of the condensing coil is really setting this unit up for extra strain on the compressor, waste of energy, and ultimately a costly compressor failure. They figure if you'll fork out 3 grand for a fridge, you'll probably be able to afford another one in a couple years when this one breaks.

The refrigeration aspects works well. The amount of storage is compromised by the compartments, and my wife complains about the lack of space constantly.

the ice machine is a little slow. When entertaining any more than 3 guests you will run out of ice, so I suggest freezing some for such occasions.

The interior layout is poor compared with similar counter-depth models which have the ice maker on inside of left door. The exterior water/ice dispenser is very poor. No one can use our ice dispenser without having three or four cubes fly around the kitchen. It has become somewhat of a family contest.

Poor quality. The drawers stick and do not glide smoothly. Very small interior. Stainless attracts every fingerprint and is hard to clean exterior. Very disappointed with this product!! The worst refrigerator I have ever owned.

It works as advertised. Keeps temps well. Keep having to unjam ice maker though--have not tried adjusting anything on the ice maker yet. Maybe if it can be set to make less ice, jamming won;t be such a problem.

This is a very nice looking refrigerator and I like the interior design and drawers. The freezer is well designed too. I feel for the price we paid, the drawers could be better quality. They seem very flimsy and don't have very good support. I worry they will break. I like the lined shelves in the door. What I don't understand is that if our place gets above 74 degrees, the door seal sweats. I don't know if that is indicative of a poorly sealing unit or what. The ice maker is good but the dispenser is too forceful and ice goes all over the place when trying to fill up a glass. I also wish it had a crushed ice option. [...] Overall we are happy but it's the little things that seem to be overlooked.

I love the look of this fridge and the doors are nice and light and easy to open. It also warns you if a door is left open by the kids! I love the freezer drawer and its roomier than it looks! The shelves are easy to adjust to meet the needs of any type of family and their groceries!

The product looks good. Cools really well. Produces ice fast for us. Door dispensing water and ice feature is a plus. Sits flush with the built-in cabinetry. But here is the disappointment. It is a refrigerator that whines when the compressor kicks in. The whine is extremely hard to forgive in a kitchen. Also, if you use up the entire batch of ice the compressor revs up and the whine can be heard throughout the house (we live in a quiet neighborhood). So we went back to the store and tried to see if the whine was only in our unit. Other similar models from Kitchen Aid whine as well. Thinking of turning this in and getting a GE Profile....
