This dishwasher was relatively easy to install myself, even though I tend to be a perfectionist. The controls are easy to understand and work as advertised. It is very quiet; in fact if it was any quieter it would bother me, because I would have to continually check to see if it is running. It takes a little longer to wash than my previous dishwasher but apparently that is the price you pay to get consistently clean dishes; which really doesn’t bother me. The one thing that is bothersome is that it does not dry well, even when the kitchen faucet is run to make sure that hot water is available from the start. Our water heater is installed with temperature settings according to the manufacturer’s specifications. I called customer service who were very helpful, knew exactly what I was talking about, did not deny that the problem existed and attempted to help; in all a very pleasant experience. There is a new retrofit fix and they arranged for a GE service agent to install it. Once installed it did help but it still will not dry satisfactory at the most energy efficient setting. This is why I could not give it a 5 star rating. It still works better than our old dishwasher ever did and is much quieter, which makes life a lot more pleasant. In truth I have spoken to friends who spent much more for their dishwasher that performs about the same, sometimes not as well.

Where to start...first I'll out myself and tell you I'm 58 and have alot of experiance w/dishwashers. The model we bought is not the top of the line, I use maybe 1or2x a week. Why would anyone want to turn OFF the heat dry cycle? Buttons give you that option. Remember when you opened before the dry cycle was done and you'd get a steam facial? Not with this unit. I called for service because I thouhgt the heating element wasn't working and the man hooked up a meter and told me "all was working as designed" so in order to get some HOT water flowing you have to use the "sani wash" cycle which is longer, hotter and not nessesarily "energy efficient". Hmmm...The man also explained that the high density plastic interior is supposed to be quieter. NOT! He also explained that since this unit is energy efficient it uses less water so the level of water never comes up over the heating element on the bottom to continually heat and it cools down, then drains out and fills more , and so on and so on... And it was suggested that I run the kitchen faucet until it got really hot 'cuz then hot hot water would be filling the dishwasher when I turned it on.FYI the interior plastic walls always have water dropplets running down even days after I've emptied the unit and because the dishes don't ever get hot they don't "sheet" off dropplets during dry cycle so when I unload I have to wipe every piece of silverware and every glass before I can put away. So my new energy efficient dishwasher doesn't clean ,is noisy, takes sometimes 4 hours+ to finish a cycle and makes me do half the work.Who's designing this* junk* and how do I apply for their job?? Also need to add that we choose this unit because it came in Bisque to match all other appliances. NO other reason.

I really like this dishwasher with it's large and deep drawers to put dishes in, I like the steam cycle and I like that it really gets my dishes clean.
a dishwasher that does not leak

Satisfactory but Noisy

I've only used this once but so far so good. It starts and stops a lot throughout the cleaning, especially at the beginning. I'm not sure if that's normal or not. I always open the door after the cycle is over to dry the dishes, so complaints I've read about it not drying well don't bother me. The dishes came out clean. So it's doing all that I'd hoped for!

I purchased this appliance a week ago, I was amazed at how easily it was installed and how quiet it is when its in uses. This was a much needed up grade. I would recommend this product to anyone
