Comments about Yamaha 7.1 Channel Home Theater Black Receiver:
I decieded to write this review because no one else has. this is a great receiver for those who don't care about networking features or 3D. it's the last of the yamaha orange face and still has the two digital outputs and switched outlets which the new models are missing, the dumbest move ever! i also own the rx-a 3020 which is missing those options and has less analog outputs. as for sound quality theres very little difference in the two. this has plenty of clean power. the video processing is excellent, the auto setup is easy and works great.if you don't care about the networking features save your money and go for this model or the step up rx-v3900, you won't be disappointed. the rx-v3900 does have networking if your into that kind of thing. to me its an unneeded feature. i do wish the remote lit up like the 3900 does. i keep hopeing yamaha adds the switched outlets and second digital output back at least to there upper two models and bring back at least a second analog loop. some people still use cassettes and minidisc, no reason to have all those eight hdmi inputs on the new models, four is plenty. as far as i'm concerned the rx-v 1900 and rx-v3900 are the last of the great receivers. and the rx-z11 is the last flagship worth buying. i really can't come up with anything negitive about it. its also the last with a decent remote, the new ones don't have labels on the inputs which is really the dumbest thing they have done, no way of telling what input does what, at least this remote tells you. as you can tell i like the older models alot better then the new ones. they just keep cutting cost and adding features that don't matter, compare for yourself. the new ones are lighter and feel cheap. especially the rx-v models. the aventage rx-a2030 and 3030 are closer to the 1900 and 3900 for comparision but missing the features i mention.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
