The filter shipped to Chicago for free and arrived almost a week ahead of the suggested delivery date. It fits our Honeywell Cool Moisture Humidifier perfectly. It even includes an added Air Washing filter around the outside to remove smaller particles which was not on the original filter included with the humidifier. I would definitely purchase this filter from Abt again.

Having good experiences with Honeywell branded humidifier wicks in the past few years, I made it a habit to restock "genuine" Honeywell HAC-504 this time of the year. They have actually improved the quality of the wick over the one coming with the humidifier (HM-1000) by adding a layer of filter blocking the unwanted stuff. However, this year I was really disappointed to see that the thickness of the wick cut by almost 50%. As a result, it is less effective in drawing up the moisture. Also the wick becomes too light that it would not stay in place when I lift the fan compartment to turn over the wick. It is very annonying to have the wick stuck to the bottom of the fan compartment and need to be separated by another hand.

The old Honeywell that stands for quality is no more. Maybe my next unit will be one of those from Jarden empire. Are you listening, Honeywell? You wanna cheap? I will go for the real cheap one.
