Made 3 pots of coffee

I purchased the appliance on-line[...] I set it up, followed the directions to a tee, and got a great pot of coffee, and the espresso is amazing from a small machine like this. Very rich crema, nice flavor, and the foam is soft and dense. However, a few complaints, the espresso side, the pod holder is VERY hard to use the first few time, you really have to force it. THe steam adjuster is also very hard to turn on. The coffee maker amount of coffee made is variable only by the amount of water you put in the tank, so you cant fill the tank and just make 1-5 cups. The setting is for the heat, not the amount. No big deal, but it is implied in the sales info. After just 3 pots of coffee, the electronic screen went blank, no more coffee. I called the online vendor, they sent me a call tag within 24 hours. We shall see how long the new one lasts........

Boy, am I spoiled!!

I'm an avid coffee drinker with a restaurant past. Right after my old coffee maker quit, DH suggested I spend a bit more than my usual $10 coffeemaker and get something that made espresso/cappuccino as well. After a bit of research, I found this to be the best rated for what it was. It came in and I must say that I am spoiling myself with flavored cappuccinos every night! The only downside is that I have to wait for the water to heat up to make the espresso. So...I turn it on while I eat dinner and I have it ready for my after-dinner splurge.

Makes good coffee, but breaks too often

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We purchased this coffee maker about a year ago and we were very happy with the coffee it was making until it broke for the first time about 4 months after we purchased it for [$]. Fortunately it was covered by the manufacturer's warranty (have in mind that it's a hassle to deal with Delonghi). We got the machine back working, but we had to stay without home made morning coffee for about two months. Three months later it broke again. The same symptoms - the dripping pod stopped making coffee. We had to send it again back to Mr Appliance. This time they fixed it and returned it faster, it took just about 6 weeks. It's been now another few months since they fixed and it stopped making coffee again. Unfortunately the machine is not under the manufacturer's warranty anymore and Delonghi deferred the case to Mr Appliance. I am sending it again to be fixed, but I don't know how much I will be charged and how long it will take this time. Besides the products issues I was very dissatisfied by ABT and Delonghi after I learned that the price was officially dropped by Delonghi with $100, 3 months after I purchased it. They didn't want to give me any refunds or even credit for this drastic difference.I definitely don't recommend this product to anybody as it is very unreliable and it's difficult to deal with Delonghi.

A lot of bang for the buck!

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This is a great machine! It does take a little while for the espresso to be ready, but it is ceratainly worth the wait. Once it is warmed up you can make a number of cups back to back which is also nice. The espresso gives you a tasty brown froth on top. I have never had that with espresso machines that I have had in the past, and didn't know what I was missing! You can also make espresso and coffee at the same time. This comes in handy if you are entertaining and someone wants espresso while you are making a pot of coffee. Yes it is made of mostly plastic, but it is nicely put together, giving me no concerns for its longevity.

Very disappoined with the constant puddles of water. Never leaked coffee, just the water. Found other reviews outside ABT that confirm this - after the fact.

Awesome Coffee & Espresso

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Both the coffee and espresso from this machine are simply amazing! The espresso comes out exactly the way an Italian barista would make it for you with the perfect amount of froth on top. The coffee side makes a wonderful cup of coffee; with the functionality of being able to set the strength of the flavor of the coffee you wish to brew makes it hard to drink coffee anywhere but at your house. The only reason why I didn't rate it a 5 is simply because of the time it takes for the boiler to get to the right temperature, I will say the espresso is well worth the wait though!
