    Comments about Pioneer Elite Black 1080p Upconversion DVD Player:

    When I sought a "universal" DVD player that could play DVD-Audio and Super Audio CDs, as well as upconvert video, I went no further than this model. The DV-49AV has just about everything I looked for--DVD-Audio and SACD transmission over HDMI is incredible, and the video upconversion makes my regular DVDs look almost as good as Blu-ray. Setup wasn't much of a chore, since the player's menus and the instructions are reasonably easy to understand. The USB port is a nice addition for bringing over pictures and some Windows Media files. Perfect for those who want these features, and then some, in a sleek, handsome package. It may well be the last regular DVD player you may ever need, at least for many years.

    Service and delivery comments:

    Delivery of the player was quite rapid--I got it in maybe three or four days of placing my order. The outer box was slightly bruised in one place, but the inner box and the hardware were intact.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
