Comments about KitchenAid 30" Integrated Retractable Downdraft Vent:

This product is expensive. It took a long time to install, and was quirky to use. The fan often would not retract. I've had mine for 2.5 years. Last month it stopped working--would not move up or down. Kitchenaid advises the part to fix it is $500! And, since warranty is only one year, we have to pay $500 and another $150 to install the part. Don't buy this product!
