A-mazing

i first got the smaller version of the Animal, but the power cord was too short and the wand was too short. this one is just right. the other one still sucked really well, but it wasn't for a full sized house - i didn't think. i had to switch outlets too often. this one is great. it sucks soooooo well. but im comparing it to my hoover. the things that could be better, since i am reviewing, are.... it would be awesome if it could have a smaller ball so it could go under couches, the wand slinky wouldn't fight me so much (hoping it will weaken with usage) - it always ready to retract back into starting position which is hard when vacuuming the couch, and the want would be in a quick hulster, and I wouldn't have to park it then remove the handle.... over all its great. the deep vacuuming it does alone is what makes it a winner. my old rug seriously lighted a whole shade of tan. and on this site is the BEST BEST price!!

This is a great vacuum for picking up pet hair. The small design allows it to fit easily underneath couches, beds, etc. for a more thorough cleaning. Pet hair attachment is great for furniture. Very easy to empty. My carpets look like they have been cleaned professionally each time I use it!

ONE AWESOME MACHINE!

Cleaned first with my old Rainbow Vac, thatn used the Dyson. Couldn't believe how much more power it had, and how much dirt came up. I ahd to enpty the dust catcher 6 times - and we onluy live in a three bedroom ranch style home. Cord is a lot shorter than a Rainbow. the dust holding tank is WAY too small for all our dog hair, but if I carry a trash bag with me , and /or vacuum more often - it's ok.

Pet hair brush is incredibly efficient! Vacuum is quiet, easy to manuever, easy to use, and picks up what the old vacuum left behind. Only reason it's not a perfect score is the canister is small and it has a short cord. Easy enough to work with, but can't rate it perfect until they improve those aspects.

I'm the mom of four cats and they shed lots of hair. The Dyson DC25 Animal loves cat hair! With the wonderful little animal attachment made for getting pet hair off things it eats cat hair like nothing I've ever seen. It's easy to vacuum with on either carpet, tile or laminate floors. It actually lifts the carpet off the floor at times and has pulled out dirt that I know has been down in the fibers for a L-O-N-G time. I wouldn't trade my Dyson!

Dyson Animal....you can say that again!

I must admit that I was hesitant at first about investing in a Dyson vacuum simply because of the price. After my wife and I received our first vacuum( Hoover Windtunnel) as a wedding present approximately 7 years ago, we thought it was about time to update a vacuum that simply could not clean the way we wanted to anymore. That's when I started investigating the Dyson line of vacuums. Even though right now we do not currently own any pets, a puppy is in the very near future for me and my family. So I felt why not get a vacuum they claim can handle pet hair. After the first use of my Dyson Animal vacuum I was sold on the brand for life. The amount of dust and just plain old junk it pulled out of my rug was a definite eye opener for me. Not just the fact that my old vacuum wasn't cutting the mustard anymore but the proof was right there in the collection bin. If you are hesitant about the cost, don't be because what other vacuum company out there will give you a full five year warranty? None that I know of. It just adds a piece of mind to a relatively big purchase knowing no matter what happens it will be covered.

Good suction, but short hose...

This is a great machine for using on floors as an upright...It becomes not so good if you need it to clean stairs or to use the tool attachments that they make available. The hose that comes with it is supposed to extend 15 feet. If you do extend it that far, the tension from extending it that far pulls the machine behind you so that it becomes necessary to have someone else hold the unit while you use the hose attachments. They have a metal pole that you should add to the end to use the floor attachment or to extend it further up to the top of the stairs, but it is hard to bend the hose or to handle the attachments at the top of the stairs with the pole at the end. It would be nice to have a hose extension kit available that allowed an extra 25 feet of hose to be added for ease of use. They offer a hose extension kit for the DC24 that says it is 28" long, but doesnt say how far it extends. I asked at the Dyson 'help line' that I called and they said that the kit would not fit on the DC25 we purchased. In any case, we tried to clean our sofa with the additional crevis tool that we ordered...it cleaned good with strong suction, but it was necessary to have someone holding the unit when we used the tool, it pulled the machine around too much as we used it. I imagine it will be worse at the top of a staircase. I also used the floor attachment and the hose bent sharply at the top because of the hose tension. Am I missing something?

I have tried every type of vacuum cleaner to handle the hair from my 3 dogs and 2 cats that are in and out of my house all day. NOTHING compares to the Dyson Animal! It's best feature is its ability to pick up pet hair on ANY type of surface. If there is one drawback it is that it's a little noisy. But that's a very small price to pay for such a well performing cleaner!

Dyson Ball DC25 Animal Review

I've had the DC25 Animal for ~3 weeks now and I'm really impressed how well this machine works at cleaning carpets and bare floors. I was amazed at how much dirt, dust, hair, and other debris that can accumulate in less than 1 weeks time on a carpeted floor. I was beginning to wonder if this vacuum was actually pulling the various debris from beneath the carpet itself, because I had vacuumed just 4 days earlier. I did a test to prove this by after vacuuming our living room carpet with the DC25 I thoroughly emptied the dust bin and then immediately re-vacuumed the same carpet. I found that the 2nd vacuuming only picked up a very small amount of additional debris, this proved to me the material I was removing was only on the top surface of the carpet and not from under the carpet. This goes to prove that I need to vacuum once a week at a minimum in my house, even though the carpeting did not appear that dirty to the naked eye. There are some things That need improving even though I love this vacuum. First off the cord is too short for my liking, but I'll deal with it. 2nd the accessory hose on this machine stores nicely in the unit while not in use, but it takes a strong hand to use it, since it is hard to stretch it out as you you it to vacuum cushions and stairways. It does stretch quite a distance, but it takes a firm hand. Lastly I've trouble lately getting the support rear rollers to pop back down when I try to stand the vacuum back up, but I've always been able to do it after a bit. It may just need some adjustment or lubrication, but I'm not sure since I have not taken the time to look into this yet. All this being said I still think this is the best vacuum I've ever owned and I would recommend this vacuum.

The Dyson works great. My wife handles most of the cleaning but I had to try this for myself. Spending [$] on a vacuum I wanted it to vacuum the carpets by itself. It almost did just that. Its so easy to move due to the ball that even my 2 yr old son took it for a spin. I enjoyed it so much I told my wife I'd handle the vacuuming duties. Now ladies, don't get the wrong idea. The Dyson is great, but I can't promise it'll get all your husbands to vacuum. Only this one.

This is the first Dyson vacuum I have purchased. I wonder why I waited so long. The DC25 Animal really takes the dog hair out of my large wool area rugs. Two other brands I have owned have not cleaned nearly as well.

I like how it picks up along side the walls It has really good suction I wish the cord was longer, so I wouldn't have to unplug halfway down the hallway I wish there was a storage spot on the unit itself for the mini turbine.

Dyson DC25

This vacuum does a great job on carpet. However, on hardwood it does not seem to pick up pet hair as well as I would have hoped. The hair gets clumped on the brushes because they are not turning while using it on flat surfaces.

I read positive comments before purchasing the Dyson DC25 and it has lived up to them. I've only had the vacuum for a few weeks but it's easy to manuever and great suction (especially good for dog hair). It's great to not have to change bags, still getting use to emptying the cup, it's a little messy but wow about the amount of material the vacuum cleans up.

It works great! We have 3 dogs and 5 cats so there is ALOT of hair and the Dyson gets it all.Works equally well on tile and carpet.It puts my Oreck to shame.Alittle pricey but worth every penny!
