I got rid of a Fisher Paykel washer that was only 18 months old-it was going to cost me over $300 to fix the electronic controls and I had already had 2 service calls on it, so after researching front loaders and other machines I decided to go back to basics. Cost was no problem for me but I was SICK of service calls with all the fancy schmancy electronic controls. Some items I will tolerate(dishwashers, stoves, microwaves) but I just want an good old fashioned washer. I read blogs by repairmen and found they like the good old knobs, so that was what brought me to this machine.I will say that it does spin the sheets in a really tight bunch but I haven't tried a slower cylce yet. It doesn't really bother me and I try to load without circling the center post. It doesn't have tons of cycle choices but it has everything I need for family laundry. I'm on a main floor with ceramic tile and have no problem with movement. It's a bit noisier than my last washer but I can sit 4 feet from it and not mind it at all.

This machine broke twice within the first year when it was under warranty and then broke five months after warrenty expired. Problems included not draining water, needing to be realigned, and lastly it needed a new motor which cost [$]....clearly not worth investing after having so many other problems. Don't regret your purchase...get a different machine!

Comments about GE Super Capacity Washer:
does not clean clothes as I expected from a GE washer...and no matter how much softener I use our clothing has a really bad odor...so I'm wasting detergent and fabric softener...

HATE this Washer
from Ocala, FL, United States
Bought it in 2012. Have never been happy with its performance. Do not like the water level options and it is extremely hard to interupt a cycle and start it over again. This is the worst machine I have ever had.
bought this in december, VERY UNHAPPY
from Locust, NC, United States
Bought washer in December, wish I had NOT! LONG wash cycles, shakes badly.
LOW water level
The drum size is misleading. It's 50% larger than old washer but only cleans same amt. Why are there fins at the top of the agitator when the clothes can never be loaded to that height.Water level too low to clean a "super"load as in the example on the magnet strip that came with my machine. Maybe a chart listed in the owner's manual. All my other machines had one, example: sm load = 1 slacks, 2 blouse, ex lg load = 6 pr jeans , 2 sweatshirts. this would help all those using the machine, including the younger ones who may not have much experience doing laundry. I am very interested in what a rep from G.E. might have to say. BTW I have been doing laundry since I was 10, I am now 57.
WATER LEVEL = not happy
from SO CAL
NOT HAPPY WITH WATER LEVEL. NOT HAPPY WITH G.E.'S RESPONSES IN THESE REVIEWS. GIANT TUB BUT WATER LEVEL IS TOO LOW TO USE.

Less than average results! Way too complicated and not efficient enough to clean clothes thoroughly! Please do not buy it's a waste of time and money!
I love my new washer!

I bought my new washer about 3 months ago. I love all the features and options for different types of loads. I love the fabric softener dispenser. This machine is really quiet too.

2 Years Old, Already Needs Replacing
from Sparks, NV
We've had this washing machine for about two years. The first year it worked fine, but about 18 months in, a part broke which holds/counter balances the tub. We have repaired it twice, and it's broken again. The machine will still run but it's extremely loud and shakes enough it could rattle pictures off the wall. I realize this was not an expensive machine, but we were told it was a "work horse." That is far from what how I would describe it. We are family of three, not hard on things. Save your money and buy a better quality product. We are having to do that now, kicking ourselves for not getting a better machine to begin with. It saddens me to write a bad review, one of the selling features and reasons we chose to buy GE appliances was that they're made in the USA. On a bright note, the dryer we purchased as part of the set works great.

This is the very worst washer I have ever owned. It doesn't get anything clean. It is the equal to rinsing out your clothes in the sink. The rinse is a joke. Leaves soap & fabric softener in the clothes. I hooked up my old washer put my towels in & the soap & fabric softener in the water was amazing. Having used the washer you could not PAY me to bring this junk home!

We got this machine a few months ago and it is a piece of garbage! it does NOT fill up with water! How do you get clothes clean with not enough water ???!!! It only has a tiny agitator so it doesn't get the clothes clean! The clothes just sit in a little bit of water and barely move around. They come out all dirty with fuzz clumped all over them. I do NOT understand this for the life of me. Supposed to save on water and energy but it doesn't do what it was made to do!!!! We went out and got a used washer that works the way it is supposed to and used to do. Until we can actually find a new washer that actually works correct!
