Following a kitchen remodel I needed a new microwave that matched my new GE SS appliances. I took a chance on this one over the Countertop Spacemaker model mainly due to price. I am pretty pleased as the match is quite good, right down to the green LED clock, though this model is not really SS, as my refrigerator magnets will stick to it (which I like). It is a bit noisy but tolerable. I like the 1100 watt power as my previous 20 something yo Sanyo was only 700 watts. I doubt I`ll use all the advertised `smart` features. That said I find the keypad and overall operation well laid out & friendly.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend his microwave. After 1.5 years of infrequent use, half the numbers on the control panel no long work.

And I can't recommend ABT (or, for that matter, GE) since they won't stand behind the product. The warranty is 1 year, and the only suggestion both ABT and GE had was to take it for repair, which would cost as much as a new microwave!

Too bad. I thought this microwave and ABT would work. They didn't.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Merchant response: Most of the appliances we sell come with a one year warranty. Abt also offers a 3, 4 or 5 year extended warranty at the time of purchase. We also offer our customer’s an extended warranty at the end of the manufacturer’s warranty. The customer opted not to extend the warranty coverage. We do typically try to help a customer if something is just outside of the warranty period. We apologize if your merchandise broke after the warranty period and would be happy to contact the manufacturer on your behalf to see if there’s something that can be done. Feel free to contact our appliance service department manager.

I loved this little baby, but lost her too quickly. After only two years, she made a loud pop and kicked the bucket. Customer service told me there were no replacement parts because this model was mass produced and not meant to last a long time. Oh, well, I'm now trying the Whirlpool model Consumer Reports rated best.
