First off, I am a charcoal grill enthusiast, so buying an electric grill to me was almost sacrilegious. Unfortunately, living in a condo/apartment that bans any type of grill on the patio, my choices were limited(i.e., not eat grilled food, George Foreman, or someone else's house every time I want a steak).Having owned a charcoal Weber, and having purchased two high end gas grills for my father (he still has both going, the first one going on 20 years), I was excited to try this Weber (albeit cautious as I assumed the food would be 'broiled' or 'baked' at best like so many other electric grills I have tried).All I can say is WOW. If you can't use any other type of Weber grill because of fire code restrictions, try it, you won't be disappointed, even for the whopping [...] you might have to pay. The food comes out tasting pretty much like it would on a Weber gas grill. Seared, juicy, and 'grill tasty'. Note that its small cooking area doesn't really allow the use of indirect heat for roasts and stuff, and of course there is no charcoal flavor to the food, but for burgers, steaks, hot dogs, chicken, and ribs, its perfect.I have heard a few people say they can't get things like steaks seared...this is basically user error for the most part. The key is to heat it on high for 15 minutes before you grill, and when you grill, keep the lid closed!!You won't be disappointed!

When exiled to a place where charcoal and gas are forbidden the griller doesn't have a lot of options other than electricity. The problem is that 120 volts isn't a lot of power to do high temperature grilling. Well, after some considerable development time Weber has managed to produce an electric version of its popular Q line of grills that runs on electricity. Capable of temperatures over 600 degrees F thanks to the efficiency of this design this grill can sear a steak, heat up quickly and recover its heat even faster after you lift the lid. While a small grill, if you are limited to electric grills, buy this one.

I clean it after every grill, let it heat up, and it does contain the heat and taste almost as good as a gas grill.

Electric seems to have come a long way.
The heat elements adjust to the temperature setting up and down WAY more quickly than expected. The design bakes the food at lower temperature levels, sears the meat and fish perfectly at a high level, and because of the lack of flame it is perfect for small porches.

We live in a condo and have our new grill on the balcony. By state fire laws are not allowed to have any grill but electric. We have waited for Weber to create this grill. We love it and feel it has lived up to the Weber name and reputation. We also own 2 of the Q gas grills and love them but can't use them in this location.

Great alternative for those folks who can't use gas or charcoal grills on a deck or porch. Not quite the same as those methods but close enough that I don't miss them.
