I love my counter depth French refrigerator which expends the space in my narrow galley kitchen. The French doors make everything I need on a daily bases conveniently reachable. The moveable shelves in the door and inside the refrigerator are easily cleaned and hold items of various sizes. I particularly like having the freezer at the lower level where items can be easily moved without having to reach to the back inside of the freezer. The ice maker is quickly accessiblel. The black glossy exterior is stylish, and the refrigerator is quiet, and an energy saver as well.

As far as the actual refrigerator space and function go, I don't have a problem with this model. I'm not picky about my fridges, so it works just fine and looks great. BUT, while I was unpacking everything inside and setting up the door shelving I noticed that the two shelf buckets for the left door by the ice dispenser are identical. Only problem is, the top shelf is supposed to be shaped differently to fit that space. Even the instruction manual showed a different shaped bucket for the top slots. So I've got a missing shelf and a useless little bucket. Second, I debated over doing ice and water in the door and I finally decided I wanted the convenience of not having to open the door to get ice or water. So the ice and water dispensers seem to work great. My BIGGEST pet peeve of this fridge is that the little catch tray at the bottom is not self draining, and the excess ice/water literally needs to be soaked up with a few paper towels at least three times a day. So here I am with a nice new shiny stainless steel refrigerator, jamming paper towels into the shallow tray at the dispenser to prevent it from over flowing down the front of the fridge onto my hardwood floors!? Three or four times a day!? Come on!!! So I took a stroll through Home Depot and noticed that most of the models they have on display are similar, and I would imagine their owners are dealing with the same problem. My buddy does have a newer fridge that does self drain the ice tray and I would absolutely search high and low for a brand/model of fridge that does this. This should be more common because it's incredibly annoying.

Comments about KitchenAid Counter Depth Bottom Mount White Refrigerator:
Our only issue is it came with a broken ice maker which if Camping World didnt have our RV for almost a year we may have figured it out sooner. Otherwise its a great unit!

My refrigerator is the first thing that my guests notice when they enter my kitchen. My guests loves the way it looks; and the fact that it doesn't stick out so far. I will always buy a counter depth refrigerator.
Freezer started to leak after three years
from New York, NY
Pro:It has all you need for a fridgeCon:The freezer started to leak after 3 years. The phone line of their customer service will drop call and they will have to transfer you to another line, and then you have to explain the whole thing all over again. This could happen more then one time, which is very annoying.

We have had this refrigerator for 4 years it is so noisy you can't hear yourself think. The ice maker only lasted two years, the drain tube was blocked with ice, leaked water on our hardwood floors and ruined them. The technician that came out, said that this was a problem with this model and we had to pay $150.00 to have the drain tube replaced. We are never buying any Kitchenaid appliances or Whirlpool because they are both the same company.

Updated our kitchen with black appliances and our fridge was the last item to buy. We were so unsure of which brand and model to buy. We came across this Kitchenaid fridge and totally loved it. It has all the features we wanted and is a great addition to our kitchen.
First side by side we've ever had. It's great--doors shut by themselves evenif only the left door is opened.Love the ice & water dispensing.
Great small fridge

We like this fridge. We recently downsized to a smaller kitchen, and it has fit in well. The only thing we miss is having crushed ice. Would rather have this option than "dispense water," although this is nice to have, too. We had a little bit of trouble with ice clumping and not dispensing in the first week or two, but this has resolved. We are happy with this fridge for our needs at this time.
very disappointed in this refrigerator/freezer
from Sonoma Ca
I bought this refrigerator a little over 1 year ago as I have other Kitchen Aid appliances and the developer/builder in my new home suggested it. I am very disappointed in the freezer as the freezer door on the right side is warped so that the freezer door does not completely seal (you can see this side is not as tight as the other side). Frost forms on the bottom of the freezer and then drips on my hardwood floor. I am 1 adult in the house, no children and am very careful. This warped door and seal issue is apparently common as the service person knew of it. I bought an extended warranty plan and have been told the extended warranty does not cover the seal or a warped door as it is a manufacture defect. PLEASE HELP!!

Have had nothing but problems with this refigerator. Does not maintain temperature. The freezer coil ices up and clogs the defrost drain which causes the unit not to work. Door seals went bad within a year. Controller replaced and still doesn't maintain temperature. Kitchenaid does not stand behind their product and warranty is worthless.
