This advanced negative feed back circuit improves damping factor and increases accuracy and sound quality. When a signal is passed to a subwoofer, like a 50Hz note, the speaker will move and create the note. However, because the speaker has mass and a suspension, it won’t stop moving once it’s in motion. This extra movement (sound) creates a type of distortion that’s not part of the original signal. The negative feedback circuit senses this unwanted movement and send out an opposite pulse to stop the speaker like an electronic brake

Comments about Kenwood Excelon Class D Mono Power Digital Amplifier:

So here is my setup summary. I'm running a Alpine CDA-9885 deck with a single 12 inch Alpine Type R (SWR-1242D) subwoofer wire to run at 2ohms in a seal 1.2 cubic foot box. The amp does not seem to be as powerful as my old mono 600 watt rms Infinity amp I had. I am running at 2ohms so I would think the extra 100 watt rms difference would make my Alpine Type R punch a little harder but I can't say it is. The "negative feed back circuit" which is supposed to improve sound quality either is not working or I can't tell the difference. The sub sounds the same as with my old amp. I do like the small design size it is 1/3 the size of my old amp… so I'll give credit there. The one thing that really bugs me is the knobs to adjust frequency and voltage is very small so you have to have a tiny screw driver to make adjustments. I used to be able to adjust those controls on previous amp with my car key but not with this amp. The amp does stay pretty cool. It's warm to the touch but not burning hot. I haven't been on a long drive running it hard so can't say for sure how warm it gets. Either way it hasn't shutdown or gone into protection mode. It does start clipping if I push it really hard. My final thoughts is... at [$] you likely can get a better amp at a better price… unless you need an amp small in size. At this point the size is the only thing its got going for it.
