I had a GE Dehumidifier before that worked well. When it needed to be replaced I bought what was available an LG, which was nowhere as efficient. My new GE works well and dries up our musty basement to the point where it doesn't smell anymore. I'm sold on GE dehumidifiers.

Its very loud no matter what its telling you. Water full, and two more, I don't know what the loud buzz sounds that are different from each other are for. To empty the water is ridiculous because it comes out from every where on the top and needs to be wiped dry after its empty. The one I had that lasted a very long time - plugged in, turn the number button 1 to 10 depending on humidity and it will shut off when necessary and a light comes on to indicate its full. Easy, quiet. I missed the return date by about a week and I so wish I didn't.

Comments about GE Gray 40 Pint Portable Dehumidifier:
Opened box, read instructions completely, plugged in and off we go. Easy to understand and operate. Pulls LOTS of water out of room air. Time will tell how good a purchase this has been.

Dehumidifier - Love It!

Very quiet, we really like the controls and the gauge on the front of the tank.

With all the rains, and having a concrete foundation, our humidity level in our home was at 72-75%. We purchased this unit and it worked great. We emptied the water reservoir 4 times in the first 24-36 hours. Within 5 days the humidity level in the house was down to 50%. We are very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who asked. The only draw back may be the weight of the unit if someone is older or possibly had a disability, it's kinda heavy.

This is the fourth one I have had. First two I bought third I bought with a 2 year extra warranty. So now see if this one last more than one year.

I have a small basement approx 12X20 without a sump pump and a stone walls from the 1800's. This dehumidifier has maintained a completely dry floor even with heavy rains and snowfall. Prior to its use, I always had at least a 1/2 inch of water during wet periods. It's super quiet too!

Great investment, I had no idea how much moisture was in my basement. When I am using it I can tell a difference in the temps. I also enjoy the unit has wheels so its easy to move around.

Thus is the quietest dehumidifier we have purchased. We live near the ocean and the moisture in walls are pulled right out making the house warm and dry.
