Quality TV at a price that is tough to beat. I've been watching plasma prices for a couple years waiting for the perfect combo of a great price and quality, and this is it. If you don't need 1080p (which is hardly noticeable unless the two TVs are next to each other) then this guy should be at the top of your list.

I replaced my 40" Samsung LCD with this. The 40 seemed a bit small for my 10 feet viewing distance. Also wanted to try Plasma. Cons: Heavier, even in a dark room there is more glare than the LCD. But it doesn't detract from watching the show overmuch. It does hum if you put your ear near the panel or have a very white screen such as a snow scene. Plasmas are supposedly supposed to hum. Can't tell if the volume is on. The screws for the stand don't really go into some of the holes very good. Pros: Much greater contrast than the LCD. More shades of Black/Grey and richer looking picture. The glass probably adds to the depth/richness. Very good looking TV. Price can't be beat. Watched a 720p show on it and it looks very good. Saw a 1080 show on my friends TV and there is not much of a difference.

The bottom line is that this is the best tv[$] can buy. I got mine for [$] This entry level 50 inch plasma has a great picture, good sound, and easy out of the box set up. Samsung makes the BEST TV's out there and I would highly recommend this one!

Really pleased with this TV. Was skeptical about plasma, but no more. Outstanding picture and really no glare, and its in a large bright room. Real bargain for the price.
