I thought my old Sony XBR was a fantastic TV until I got the Samsung 8 series. This TV has an amazing picture! Even my girl, who normally could care less about electronics was amazed. The setup was very easy as well. I highly recommend this TV.

I bought this TV for my bedroom and it is awesome. I have it hooked up to a blu ray home theater and I'm blown away.

Excellent HDTV

We bought this TV to hang on a wall which protrudes into the family room and the TV is therefore often viewed from the side. So, thinner is better and this is very thin indeed at 1.1". We hung it with a Peerless ultrathin bracket which added about 1/2 inch. The TV itself is fantastic! Great picture, easy to use and set up. The speakers are a bit weak so external sound is a must. We bought the wireless adapter and installed the Yahoo widgets. A cute idea but total waste of money- useless. If you want internet just hook up the screen as a monitor. One piece of advice: Attach all the cables you think you might need before you hang the unit on a wall. Being so thin it is difficult (not impossible) to plug cables in once the unit is in place.

My network uses the maximum key length 63 ascii characters. Try entering that key via the interface provided... bet you can't either.

This is the perfect Tv for the bedroom. 46" is just big enough. The 1" deep screen is very impressive and means that I can mount it on the wall just about anywhere.

This unit provides the best LCD on axis picture I have ever seen. A few degrees off axis however provides a washed out picture. I added the Samsung wireless stick and it is basically worthless. The LG-390 blu-ray DVD player provides excellent wireless connection to your home computer as well as NetFlix. It is a worthy addition. The remote for the TV communicates via RF for all but on/off and volume. If you plan on using a universal remote consider one that has both IR and RF capability. My Yamaha AV receiver has 4 HDMI inputs and one output which connects to the HDMI input of the Samsung TV. In addition I have connected all the ancillary equipment through the AV receiver via HDMI. HDMI is easy, far less wire clutter and is the way to go. Additional sound capability is a must. A good AV receiver, stereo speakers, at a minimum, and a sub woofer. Do not neglect the sub woofer it makes even the commercials sound better.

[...]after getting over how nice this tv looks off. I then decided to set this tv up and hook up all the connections and that was painless to do so. Once the tv is on its a sight to behold especially bluray movies and games (if your a gamer that is).I still have to pick my jaw up off the floor every time i turn it on its incredible. This tv is pricey but well worth the money if you have the ability to stretch your budget i would take a strong look at this tv its very impressive.The sound is good but your going to want to hook it up to surround sound obviously but can make do with the stock speakers if you have too.Plenty of features and options i still haven't explored on this unit but i am very happy with my purchase an incredible tv.
