Great value in an HD television

I bought this to replace a 36" SONY XBR and for the room size (20x25) this televsion is great. Sound needs to be supported by a surround as the onboard speakers are terrible. (the XBR was a picture tube TV w/a subwoofer!) Other than thatI love the set. Being able to simply plug in a flash drive to play a movie/content is a bonus!

Great Video, so-so Audio

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This purchase was a major upgrade from a 20" TV I bought for $100 in 1995. We have it attached to a wall mount in the living room; wiring ports on the viewer's left, so you might need longer cables if you plan to put any external hardware on the right side of the TV. The widgets are for the most part surprisingly good--we've rented movies from Amazon and Blockbuster, and even though we don't have external speakers yet, we listen to Pandora. I love the way the TV adjusts the screen size to whatever the incoming screen resolution (4:3 vs 16:9) The user interface/menu system is pretty straightforward. Very easy to set up and connect to the Internet. Sound is the only complaint so far. With an "auto adjust" sound mode turned off the sound level can be too low; with the "auto adjust" sound mode turned on the sound level seems to go up and down. The sound from Pandora is orders of magnitude louder than the sound that comes with cable. Strange.

Beautiful and intelligent

Hooking up to a home network allows direct play from any connected computer with shared video, picture and music files. Cant figure out why some resolutions are not support for video, but thats probably just my desire to make everything look perfect. Great vivid picture, plenty of picture options very easy to set up and use Sound is mediocre from tv but this should have an entire ht system anyway. glare reduction isnt the best still, but the viewing angles are wonderful compared to an lcd or dlp tv. Nice modern burn in reduction choices.

I use this product as my primary home entertainment system. It has a nice feature set that can access internet widgets but it would be more useful if full internet access would be an option outside of using it only as a monitor. I am thoroughly impressed with the image clarity when viewing HD programs. It is truly a treat & the viewing experience is enhanced when complimented with the Bose Cinemate GS Series II home theatre system.

Awesome TV

Great TV. Easy set up and a good value for the picture. With LED TV's demanding top dollar for a clear picture and light weight, this plasma has a picture just as equal to any LED and probably even better costing hundreds less that similar size TV's. It's heavy compared to the new ones, but who picks it up and walks around with it? I mounted it on the wall, although the stand looks very sturdy. I have not had any negative buzzing like some have noticed and I haven't had a single issue with it. I watch a lot of sports and I don't really see any motion blur like I do with the LCD's...one of the advantages of a plasma. I don't have an issue with any glare unless there is a direct bright light directly opposite of the angle I'm viewing from. Even then, it's never bothered me terribly. The brightness doesn't match an LCD, but the colors look more true and less like a computer monitor. The sound is OK, not great, but with a TV like this it probably deserves at least a sound bar anyway. I've played some PS3 games on it, upconverted DVD's, in addition to the high def stuff...it's all fantastic. If you want the latest you can spend top $ for LED or 3D, or you can save a few hundred dollars and get this TV which performs just as well if not better. I bought it because of glowing professional reviews (I always do my research with reliable pro reviewers) and I have not been disappointed in the least.

This TV is so awesome! It was the highest rated Plasma for it's size on Consumer Reports, and it didn't cost a fortune. I guess I could have done slightly better, but only by spending three or four times as much. Want a great TV? Then this is it!

Excellent television for the price. If your room is not subject to a lot of sun, this plasma rocks. Great picture, connectivity and cool looks with the TOC bezel. Connectivity to PC with LAN and widgets. The widgets are a little slow loading but definately fun. Set up with a Blu-Ray and you have a great home theatre. No regrets and no need to get to the next price point.

This set is where my family watches movies and plays a variety of console games (xbox360, PS3, Wii). The picture quality is just incredible and the response times for full resolution images is lightning fast. For the Wii, or other devices that can't display 1080p material, you may want to set it to "Game Mode" to prevent any display lag. But let's face it, you're not considering this set to watch 480p content ;-) Buy it, you'll love it. -MH

This is the primary home tv for me, Dish Network HD looks crisp and clear, PS3 games are bright and vivid without motion blur, Blu-ray movies look better than they did in Cinemark's DLP movie theatres the first time I saw them. I typically watch most sources in medium power savings mode and a tweaked standard picture to take advantage of some the available power savings abilities of this tv. This setup works great in darker rooms. I have found that black was almost too deep and needed a bump in brightness or contrast to gather detail on dark films. No grey blacks here. My lone small complaint may be it's use with the included stand. I get a ever so slight lean to the left with it. Screws mounted in the back or not. Most people can't even tell without a tape measure, almost 1/4" diffence from the lower corners to the table. Viewing distance is ~13feet so no biggie. I could always shim it. A great buy from ABT.
