BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Nice little room AC for the price. I like the Compact as you have more window to see through.

Pros:	Accurate Temperature Controls, Easy Window Installation, Cools the Whole Room, Even Air Distribution, Easy To Install, Quiet, Energy Efficient

Great Price...no frills a/c unit

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Just needed to replace an old rusty a/c unit that was the size of a vw. This is half the size, twice the efficiency and better profile. The install couldn't be easier. I just wish there was an auto turn off feature that turned the fan off as well as the compressor when it reaches the right temp. Besides that...no frills.

Cons:	No auto-shut off feature, Loud, Plastic Rattles
