I am very dissatisfied with this machine. I have owned this product for just over a year. It replaced a front load LG washer I had owned for only five months that had several balance problems and excessive water discharge noise. I was told that the WM2801HLA model was designed for Second Floor usage meaning that it had advanced balance capability to work on non-concrete floors and a redesigned water discharge motor mount for noise reduction. It is quieter on water discharge then the previous model, but the machine moves on the floor due to the out of balance shuffle at the beginning of the spin, it mysteriously and sporadically leaks small amounts of water and it takes a very long time to run a wash cycle. Also, I have to leave the door open all the time it is not in use to make sure it doesn’t promote a mildew smell. If you are seriously considering purchasing this machine, or any front load clothes washer, consider the following points: It is almost a necessity to station the unit on a concrete floor to minimize vibration and balance issues; While shopping in the store and looking at the appearance of the front load model you are considering, open its door and picture it in your home with the door open “all the time it is not in use� because the first time the door is left closed with, or without, a load of wet cloths inside for several hours, it will start a never ending mildew growth and the smell will never completely be gone, and because this is such a common occurrence there are the expensive detergents that have been specially designed to remove the mildew and smell which must be used repeatedly with an empty tub for the full wash cycle duration (so much for the water and power efficiency of this high-tech device.) Its relatively quiet except when it it spins. It's really a wild ride when it goes for a spin. I also don't care for the drain hose and filter being so far down on the front. We got the pedestal but its still a bend for older people. Definately a negative for me. Cleaning cycles seem a little long. I am hoping that it still uses less water than my old washer though.

I've had this washer for about a month now and like it so far. It makes some strange noises while washing, but otherwise is fairly quiet. UNTIL it spins, then it sounds like a jet engine spooling up. Sometimes it makes a thumping sound when it's trying to balance the load at the beginning of the spin. Otherwise, I like the chimes it makes when you select the cycle and the tune it plays when it's done. I'm disappointed that it takes about an hour to wash a normal load, but it's nearly dry when it's finished. It does have a hard time washing a single item. Can't seem to balance the load quickly, so I try to wash several things at once. It does a super large load well though. I haven't used the steam feature yet. I have been wiping the door seals with a paper towel after use and leaving the door open to prevent a mildew smell. And I plan to run bleach through the tub clean cycle once a month. It's a bit of maintenance but not a problem so far. I have the matching dyer and pedestals. I plan to leave a review after and year, which I think would be more useful.

After finally getting our new LG washer,we are pleased to say it was well worth the wait. No more windows & dishes rattling, clothes are cleaner and wses less water less soap & bleach. Less energy & best of all finally a Peaceful laundry room, you have to go in to see if it is running it's so quiet.

This washer is amazing! It's super quite, fast and easy to use. Our clothes have never come out cleaner. We put it to test cleaning laundry from a household full of soccer players. Grass and blood stains are erased in 1 wash.

We recently puchased both this washer and the matching dryer. Absolutely love both of them!!! Our clothes seem to be much cleaner and smell great. Even though it is a bit pricey it is well worth the expense. I will post a review in six months again but really love it so far.

I can't believe how quiet the machine is and how much less water it uses that our old washer. On laundry day, we drain the washer and rinse off the filter, wipe the gasket down and leave the door open for a day. In doing so, there has been no issues with smell like other people have reported. The performance is well worth the very easy and quick maintenance

washer: quiet except for spin cycle which sounds like a space ship is landing! love all the cycles and features but other reviewers mentioned that the cycles like allergiene and sanitary last over 2 hours-- and the downside of adding anything to your cycle is more time. so far it's cleaning power is great, I did a load of very dirty towels (cleaning towels not bath towels) and they never looked so clean. And i'm very sound sensitive--that LG put in an option to eliminate all beeping sounds was a blessing for me. what needs improvement: drying down the gasket after wash is a chore. devise something that makes this drying easier. the detergent tray gets full of water--I feel I have to take it out every time to empty all the water out--and it's hard to get out. we've only had it for a couple of weeks--haven't done the steam too much because it makes the new gasket smell too much--I'll let my husband use it until it outgasses. Dryer: so so quiet I'm in heaven. dries clothes quickly. love all the settings to choose from. again, we haven't had a chance to try the steam on the dryer or the refresh on washer or dryer so can't comment on that yet. overall, i love these machines. I did not go wrong with this purchase---expensive but worth it. one thing: the doors may be square but it's still a round opening inside.
