We have 3 indoor dogs, 2 are long hair golden retrievers. We've put up with hair and debris on the carpets because we couldn't find a vacuum with enough suction. Even our $1,200 Kirby couldn't get the job done. But, when I borrowed my neighbor's Hoover Platinum I knew my prayers were answered! Mine was on back order, but well worth the wait. My carpets look like new again and we've added another golden to the mix! THANKS ABT for great service and the best price [$] devlivered!!!

I lke the way it cleans carpets, but only so-so on bare floors. Only two attachments, and light weight ones at that. No wand extention availble so if you have drapes or spider webs on the ceiling you can't reach them. Also unit is too large to fit under and around furniture, so the lack of an extension for the hose, and a smaller power brush is a very large negative. Apparently the accountants who cut manufacturing costs on this unit never consulted the engineering department about its lack of standard cleaning applications that every home owners uses. For the price and the name I expected a premium Hoover vacumn cleaner, but my older $100.00 Hoover out performed this model, and is built out of more heavy duty and metal parts, with more cleaning tools and a longer hose. I don't advise this unit for anyone who wishes to clean their home. Its like a car with no doors, seats, window glass, or hood or trunk lid. The basis rug cleaning works, but nothing else works properly because of lack of good design.

Inadequate Height Adjustment
from southern california
Works great and well designed with the exception of height adjustment. Does not go hi enough for deep carpet making it difficult to maneuver in deep carpet. Brush roller is buried too deep in carpet pile; won't adjust any higher.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
About Me Frequent User
Had a problem with the dirt cup.Called Hoover and asked for a replacement under the 6 year warranty and they offered me a choice of replacement vacuums for the warranty as it was discontinued.Had to prove ownership with receipt and a copy of the warranty manual. When I originally invested in this cleaner it was an open box at a retail store. I compared it to a Dyson while actually plugging both in and vacuuming a carpet in store. The Hoover picked up dirt better. When I brought the cleaner home I noticed the agitator belt was broken.Got that fixed and was really amazed.I fixed the dirt cup and am a very happy owner again.hoover is the best

I have had my Hoover Plat for about 5 plus years. Great vacum would recommend it to anyone. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and this vacum has down its job keeping up with all the hair. I'm in the process of getting a new brush and belt. To keep running at its peak performance
Too heavy and bulky
By Mrs Ed
from Costa Rica
I bought this a few years ago, and several parts have broken, and I feel like it's named completely wrong - "Agility" does not describe it well, since it is heavy and bulky.
great suction, but has some issues
I bought this vaccum a year ago.The two problems that I have noticed are. The brush will not spin effectively when the height setting is on the lower settings even when run on low pile carpets. The brush will slow down and sometimes stop while running the vacuum throughout a room. I have learned to leave the height dial set above 6 so that the bush spins without bogging down during normal use. I will try a new belt, but I feel there might be a different issue. I see that other people are having the same issues and they have replaced the belt and still doesn't work right. The second issue that I have is the turbine hand tool. The vacuum does not have enough suction to spin the brush and pull the dirt from carpet or upholstery. Please email me back to see if I can have these issues solved.

Pros: great suction, easily maintained and love the ability to change the height Cons: all plastic construction, the tool holder that mounts on front handle is easily dislodged and doesn't stay put.

This is the worst quality of Hoover I have EVER owned. Where to Start: - Cord retractor did not work all the time from the start, also very weak - Sounds like a jet engine at half power, hurts your ears to use it for more than a few minutes at a time - The wand does not stay extended when you twist it and is always falling off the machine - Cheaply manufactured of light weight plastic - Tips over frequently when standing up. - The height adjustment does not change and sometimes it does. I set it on high shag and it could not be pushed through the carpet, it was set so low. I stopped it and tried to see if it was broken. I turned it over and then the adjustment worked. I gave it two stars only because it does actually clean the carpet when it does work.

So far it's been good. I hVe purchased others and they ended up being terrible. Hope this one does not turn out to be a lemon
Piece of expensive junk (cord, cord retract, clips, brushroll off, upright stability)
I have only had this vacuum a few years, but already have so many issues with it that it probably isn't worth me trying to fix it (and I HATE throwing anything away). The main requirement for me when I was looking for a vacuum was a retractable cord. This vacuum did that, but the cord is a bit on the short side even though I have a very small, 1960-built house. Also, I have been using the wand from my old vacuum because I hate the type included with this machine -- you extend it and then twist to lock in place, but the lock usually doesn't hold and the wand collapses back in on itself. Plus, the powered hand tool/upholstery attachment is fairly useless. Finally, the brushroll on/off feature to turn off the brush (for hardwood) doesn't always turn off the brush. It is hit or miss. Issues with breakage include: -Electrical cord: The black covering has pulled out of the plug, exposing the insulation (and no, I do not pull from the cord, only by grasping the actual plug) -Brush clip: Broken, so you cannot store the brush on the vacuum body -Cord retraction: Sometimes it retracts on its own -Upright stability: NO LONGER STAYS UPRIGHT! I could possibly live with the rest of the issues, but this makes it impossible. It is a major pain to lift it over every threshold (since you can’t just tip the vacuum back to go over, rolling on the back wheels). It is a pain to store it. And if my kids bump into it, it comes crashing down! Dangerous. I am disgusted. A vacuum should last longer than this. I guess it is time to get out my grandmother’s vacuum from the 1950s. It still works!
