Great for very long pile carpets, goes high enough! Not good for stairs as it has no where to hold vacuum on the front, not sure what I will do as its quiet a heavy vacuum. It is quiet and I generally love vacuuming again!!

After owning a Bissell Healthy Home for several years, (air quality from the exhaust was important to me due to allergies), I have found this Hoover leaving the air almost as clean as my Bissell. On the downside, I found the hose to be quite short when using the attachments.

I trust the "Hoover" name. My previous vacuum was a Hoover and it did me well for over 20 years! I love this vacuum even more. It works great on my new carpet I bought last year. It brought new life to the high traffic areas after the first use, a huge plus! The more I use it the better my carpets look. I did a lot of shopping around, looked at many differet vacuums and decided to stay with Hoover. I got the best price with Abt, beating the competitors by almost half! [...] Especially since my old vacuum died unexpectedly! It was extreemly easy to put together, it took about 10 minutes to unpack and assemble. It is wonderful at picking of fuzzles and dirt. The one bugaboo is the attachment. Once you use it the hose tends to stay out of its moorings and is quite difficult to reattach.

My company ordered this vacuum for occasional cleaning in the offices. This vacuum sucked up just about anything in its path to include small binder clips, paper clips, and post-it notes. You can also go from carpet to bare floors instantly with a push of a button. I ended up buying one for my home. The only downfall is that i wish it had a retractable cord just to make life easier.

The 'Clean or Dirty' indicator is a great feature! It helps you discover areas that you didn't even know were dirty. It is a little difficult to use on the stairs, but the accessory cord is fairly stretchy and allows some give to reach a couple steps ahead of you. It is easy to empty, but the canister door requires multiple attempts to get it to close again.

Overall this vacuum is one I would highly recommend. The first time I used it I couldn't believe how much it picked up from the carpet even though I used my old vacuum just minutes before. We have a dog and it's great with pet hair and doesn't lose suction.

The vacuum cleaner does an excellent job. It is a little heavier than other vacuum cleaners I've used, but that isn't a deal breaker.
