I have had mine for 6 years and I am disappointed that I cannot find another one like this. I have 4 large dogs, 2 cats and live on a dirt road. This vacuum has been through so much animal furr and kept going - I have no idea what everyone is saying about the plastic parts - never had problems. Mine finally just blew up one day!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Looked good when we bought it. The suction is good. Had many of the features we wanted, but it's made of cheap plastic. We have tried to keep this together and now we have parked it in a conner trying to decide what to do with it. We had problems from the begining with plastic parts falling apart. Had it fixed once under warranty, but got it back with more broken plastic. Belt broke and the manual doesn't offer a part number or procedures to fix it. It's not worth the mony to fix especially with all the problems we have had and all the cheap plastic. I started thinking about our past vacuum machiens. All have been made by Hoover and all have broken apart because of plastic parts, but all of them have held up better than this one. This machine has been by far the worst vacuum we have owned. Trying to decide if we should buy another Hoover or try a different brand.
Great vacuum/ poor plastic design

I have owned this vacuum for 2 yrs. This vacuum does the job, and does it well! There are a few things I don't like about this vacuum and they are: the airflow that comes out the front of the vacuum seems to blow into my face, but also pushes the dust bunnies around in front of the vacuum on the tile floor. The first time I loosened the screws to the cover on bottom to clean the power brush, almost all of the 'PLASTIC" screw casings cracked and broke off. I just took off the cover again to clean brush because the power brush stopped working (maybe needs new belt) and another screw casing broke!!! I am not being rough with this machine at all. I now only have 2, or make that 1 screw holding this cover on. Other than that, it cleaned my carpets well, and picked up dog hair wonderfully! It also works well on ceramic tile and linoleum too. Not sure how I'm going to keep the cover on to keep using this vacuum. I guess it's either strong rubber bands, or the good old trusted duct tape. Paid about $200.00 for this machine and it's not holding together!!! Disappointed that it's made with such cheap parts.
Suction good, plastic parts bad

This vacuum works great until the plastic pieces start to break. The pet hair brush attachment broke right away. After a couple years, a plastic piece broke that keeps the vacuum in an upright position. The plastic holders for the extension wands have broken off too. We are not rough with our vacuum and I'm disappointed in these plastic pieces. Our previous vacuum was a hoover that had a broken height adjustment piece. Stop making these cheesy plastic pieces. I tried other vacuums and was very disappointed. I love the way Hoovers clean, but I'm thinking of going to a different manufacturer next time.
