Replaced a 10-year old GE of similar design... Ice maker takes up too much space - much of it dead air (for the same volume specified, frozen food didn't transfer). Ice maker is louder than average. Mechanical toggle switches on front panel (made to look like keypad/electrical buttons) to switch between cube/crushed, etc. Circulating fans do not shut off when the door is open (a "cool" feature on the GE, hard to say if it was functional or possibly even detrimental adding stops/starts on the compressor). Door handles are too easy to remove (frequently work loose and need to be tapped back into place). Even though there are some limitations on shelf placement, several functional configurations are available. Door shelving does not appear to be sturdy enough to handle typical loads (e.g. multiple 2-liter bottles) - check back in 20 years. Very amused that I can tag this review with "Cooking Performance". A bit worried that water filters might prove expensive or hard to find (certainly the case for the GE).

I replaced a 39 year old refrigerator that was costing me more than I had thought. My electric bill was 1/2 of what it was the previous month.. unbelievable! All the good features are frosting on the cake with Glass sheves (I had wire before), Large freezer, Ice and filtered water through the door, A great product.

Over the years, since my wife and I are both 70, there have been 4 brands of appliances that are good, BUT, Whirlpool has been the best of them all. We have two refrigerators, one is 35 years old and still going. We replaced our 24 year old one in the kitchen that could have been repaired, but we opted to upgrade that one with a new side-by-side that has the cubed AND crushed ice feature. I think this one will outlast us.

This fridge has nothing bad to say about. The ice in the freezer produces great and doesn't overflow into the rest of the freezer. You don't ever hear the fridge running, it just too quite. The actual cooling side of the fridge is also amazing. There is more than enough room to put our things. There are six people in our family and so there is a need for a lot of food, especially when we cook every day of the week. We have never not had enough room. Great appliance.

the refrigerator side is way too small. not enough shelving. barely fit the stuff we had in a fridge with much less cubic feet. freezer is fine but getting ice out manually is difficult because of the tight design. again, too small. looks nice but wish we got a standard freezer on top, fridge on bottom design.

Our entire family love the new Whirlpool side by side we recently purchase, it is the perfect fit for our family's need. The features and design are simple to use even my kids can use them without no trouble. We love the stainless on black design because it easily blends with other appliances in our house and easy to maintain. Interior is very spacious to store our diary and frozen prducts, the humidity control area is perfect for the kids breakfast plus the door shelving is can be easily remove for cleaning. Kids control feature is definitely a plus and water filter status indicator that warns you when to replace it. Overall, we are extremely satisfied.

I love my fridge. It holds so much more than i expected. The freezer holds as much as a small stand up one, as i transferred almost my whole little on into this one! It is quiet except when ice falls, but that expected. I enjoy the sleekness and the stainless steel in the kitchen. All my house appliances are Whirlpool. i do not have any complaints at all. Oh I did have to turn the fridge down from 3 to 2 as it keeps things cold to well!

Although this product is quiet for the majority of it's running time, every once in a while it will make a loud noise for a few seconds with the water. Also, this product seems like it's going to be very hard to keep clean.. both inside and out.
