I dropped the handset in the dog's bowl of water and it wiped out the digtal display....so I ordered the companion phone and it was extremely easy to set up and pair with the answering system. I followed the instructions and to my gleeful surprise all the phone numbers stored on the phone that I dropped in the dog's water bowl copied over or paired to the new phone. 1-2-3 and it was done. Eventually, the water-logged one dried out and I keep it as a spare in the basement. Extremely easy to use and set up. Go for it people.
