I bought this unit primarily for our bedroom but wanted something portable to roll into the home office. Our summer has been cooler than usual so we haven't gotten as much use out of it yet but here's my take on it so far... Pros: It gets our bedroom nicely chilled and there was a smaller than expected spike in our electricity bill. Cons: It gives a startlingly loud groan when it changes from fan to cooling mode. If you're a light sleeper, this unit isn't for you. The window panels that came with the unit didn't fit our somewhat narrow bedroom window. We worked around that by using only one of the panels and covering the opening with a winter window insulator. It'd also be nice if an extra window kit was included so that we didn't have reset it up if we wanted to move it into another room. Kind of kills the portableness of it but it's easier to move than a window unit!
