Comments about Panasonic DMP-BD70VK Black Blu-ray Disc And VHS Combination Player:
This is da bomb! I have quite a few legacy VHS videos and they display like I have never seen them before on my HD TV. So clear and sharp. The Blu Ray player fires up pretty fast. The menus are clear and easy to understand.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent Blu ray, VHS noise
from Denver, CO
I was happy to see an all in one, Blu ray/VHS player after our VCR started eating tapes. The video from Blu ray is very good, however with every VHS tape there is noise at the bottom of the television. I have yet to speak with anyone at Panasonic about this problem, but hope to have it resolved when I do.

VHS Blu Ray Player
from St. Louis, MO
I was looking around for a VHS player to play old kids movies for my daughters. I stumbled on this unit on the Panasonic website and bought it at the same time as my G15 42" TV. Getting Blu Ray and the VHS together was a bonus. VHS tapes are upconverted and look terrific. You Tube and Picasa are nice features through Viera Cast. I haven't even watched a Blu Ray disc yet. Additionally, although not advertised, this unit played some SACD discs and DVD-Audio discs that I own. That was a pleasant surprise as I didn't have to keep that player in my system.

This works wonderfully, gives me a way to play old content and upscales beutifully. And easy to connect. Not sure what the fus is about recording to VHS... can't even buy vhs tape anymore! Just want to be able to play it in case I need to. Would love it if you added RS 232 so I could add it to the automation system with out a IR eye... Thanks g

Does not record VHS
from Manteca, CA
The DVD blu-ray is acceptable, but the lack of being able to record VHS does not make this a wise purchases unless all you want to do it is play VHS instead of recording them.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
