I use this machine daily and wash everything from oversized towels used in the dog's bed to lacy camisoles. It is easy to use, and the load-size sensor makes sure you don't use too much detergent or softener. The clothes are spun so dry that loads that use to take 40-45 minutes now take about 20 minutes. I've read reviews that complain about having to dry the window and rubber gasket off when you've finished using it, but this process only takes about a minute and a half. It seems like a reasonable price to pay to avoid having mold forming on the gasket. I NEVER enjoyed doing laundry before, but this machine makes it kind of fun!

after 5 years the Control panel will break
from Atlanta, GA, USA
Comments about LG WM2301HW 4.2 Cu. Ft. White Front Load Washer:
I've owned this set for 5 years, and everything was fine and dandy with it until my wife tells me that the panel won't light up, and nothing happens when you press the power button. So after i fiddled with the power cable and made sure that I hadn't blown a fuse, I waited to see if the washer was going to just "Magically" start up again, because I had done so once. Well.. I'm sad to say that it didn't and now we're waiting for a local repairman to fix the electrical panel. With our fingers crossed, we're hoping that it happens soon.

Warranty = Life Expectancy
This washer performed as it should the first year. We had a problem within that 2nd year and now during our fourth year where the cost of both service calls exceed the actual cost of the washer. Support will do nothing for us include investigate what might be the problem and gave us the "sorry, it's out of warranty" song and dance. Between the performance of this product and now overall customer service of LG, there is not a chance will purchase anything from LG in the future.

I've had this washing machine for about 4 years. I've taken extreme care to make sure that my washing machine is kept in optimal condition. The only advice I can give you should you buy this product is to be sure to buy the extended warranty, because you're going to need it. First, the part in the back of the tub that has interlocking teeth to spin the tub was completely ground down to the point where the tub wouldn't spin. After that part was replaced, we had to replace the water pump, and now my front electronic panel will have to be replaced. There was another 2 service calls in there somewhere, but I can't remember what parts they were for. In total, in the last 4 years, I've had to call the repairmen out to my house 5 times, and they can't come out when you actually need them to, they come out "as soon as they can", which is anywhere from 4-14 days later, and God help you if they don't have the part on hand that is needed, because then you're looking at possibly another week or so until your unit is actually repaired. These repairmen, however, are kind enough to leave you with a receipt showing you how much you would've spent if you hadn't bought the extended warranty. With just the ones I can remember, it's been over 900.00. I'm never buying an appliance from LG again. Ever.
Shakes and Breaks
from Minnesota, USA
Owned for four years. Problems from day 1. I had two repair men out in the first month to find out why it shakes my whole house; still a problem. Main computer went out year two along with the bearings and door lock; not covered by warranty. Stinks like mildew though I clean and air out the machine after every use. Ties clothes into knots; literally. Does a poor job of removing pet hair. It does look nice in the laundry room but I think it will look even better on my curb next garbage day.
The Front Loader Washer doesn't clean my clothes
from San Antonio, TX, USA
I was super excited to purchase my High Energy front-loader washer and dryer combo. When we first purchased it, it was wonderful. I did not need a ton of of detergent and I looked forward to less washing and more energy and water savings. The first thing i noticed was that our clothes took longer to wash but the dry time was comparable to my old dryer. As time progressed, I started to see spots on my clothes. I then reviewed the maintenance procedures, hoping to correct this, but to no avail. We have tried third-party products to try and clean the drum, we clean the dispenser daily, because we wash daily; and clean the drain pump filter and hose assembly. We have a water softener and still have issues with our clothes. For what we paid for these units, we expected better results.
I love this washer. Have it with stackable dryer. Have had several years. Quiet. Cleans well. Had a problem requiring a reset. Did it with help over the phone, easy -peasy. A happy fan
Bearing problems after 2 years
My washer started making a very loud noise during the spin cycle. After calling LG's customer service I was told it was a bearing issue and that it was not covered under warranty. The motor is covered for 10 years, but the bearings or anything else for 1 year. I have noticed that this problem is a trend with all LG front load washing machines. The cost to replace the bearings is anywhere from $350-$500. So most technicians won't even replace the bearings. They recommend just throwing it away and buying a used one. Used ones are selling for $350. I would highly recommend buying the "In Store" warranty if you decide to buy this
Loving my new washer
I am loving my new shiny red washer. It looks too good to be stuck in the laundry room. I am pleased with the job it does and love the way it sings to me when it is done. My family has joked that it sounds like the ice cream truck is coming.
Excellent for DIRTY clothes!
from Bowling Green, OH
I wondered how well a front loader would clean jeans with caked on, dried dirt. I garden and my son landscapes and we get DIRTY. This washer CLEANS 6 pairs of really dirty jeans perfectly. It is amazing! In general, the spin cycle is so good it has cut my drying time in at least half -- instead of 70 minutes for that load of jeans, it takes only 35. Yes, the wash cycle takes longer but I make up for it with dramatically decreased dry time.
Love this machine. The selections of cycles is unbelievable. Clothes come out clean and it doesn't take much detergent.
