I am a big Sony user (Walman's, Discman's, MD's, TV, Home Audio, DVD, Blu-ray, etc...). I am a owner of a original PS1 (still working perfecly), a PS2 (Both one with bay for HD, with HD in it & a PS2 Slim along with the PS1 & PS2 Devlopment System's), along with an original PS3 w/ 80GB HD. At first in theory I really liked my PS. But, in the past (almost 2 years of ownership, bought Dec. 2007) I have had 3 defective PS3's. First lasted until Feb. 2008 )HD failure). Second until Oct. 2008 (Blu-ray drive faliure). Third until Sept. 2009 (Yellow light of "Death", motherboard failure). This has been a very frustating situation, but now Sony came thru for me. They exchanged my origin PS3 for a new PS3 250GB system. The new one works so well. Run's so much cooler (Original one's were like little spaceheater's)! I am very happy with this PS3. All PS3 games work perfectly on it (I have 42 PS3 games). I still have my PS1 & PS2's to play older games. So the badward compalitabiliy thing not a problem (All older games did not all work with original PS3). This new PS3 is the best so far. And have not heard of any major failure problems with it. One thing playing Blu-ray movies is fine with a PS3, but it is truly the best (If you are a real movie junkie) to buy a "Region Free", Sony Blu-ray player. Many more features and then you can play any Blu-ray or DVD from any country!

as with all ps3's with the exception of the ones that are backwards compatable out the box and mind you they are almost impossible to find in decent shape, you get great grafix and all that neat stuff but as with all true gamers the major issue is all the great ps2 games collecting dust on our shelves awaiting the day when we can finally have one console to play all our games we spend our hard earned cash on along with the massive ammounts of cash on these new systems with these super huge hard drives. It looks like with every memory expansion and price hike there could have been a little incentive like the backwards compatability included also. I have owned and worn out several ps3's over the years including 2 backwards compatable ones and now have invested in the new 250 gig hopefully this one will hold out unless one comes out that it totally backwards compatable again.

One of the Best!

I love it.I put almost everything on it.The online gaming is the best and it is free.I recomend it to everyone.
PS3 > Wii + 360
Best console on the Market, it truly is the only way to go for a gamer. Now with PS Move, the Sony PlayStation 3 truly delivers everything and does it the best. Best console ever without a shadow of a doubt coming for someone who's been gaming ever sense the NES.It's 23 or so popular exclusive series and expanding strongly out due the 360's 8 exclusives at a dead stop. In all actuality the PS3 may not have one bad exclusive overall with more underrated games.

If you want a great system with awesome graphics and enough hard drive space for whatever you need then buy this. Even if you need more space you can upgrade or buy another hard drive. I've had this thing for 7 months and I haven't had a single overheat and trust me I would play C.O.D. for hours. If you are an online player who doesn't want to pay for it then you are looking at what you need. Just to educate with the Xbox you have to pay $50 and last month it was increased $10. The only problem I have with it is the material it is made out of compared to the fat one but honestly I don't care it is still solid.
I have to say this is the best gaming console I've ever owned. It really does do a lot. Most of you already know exactly what it does so I'll make this short and sweet. With free online, an internet browser and an added Blu-ray player on top of everything else it does (there's a lot more), where can you go wrong? The slim 250gb has enough memory so storing games and movies isn't really much of a problem. Last words: highly recommended! The 120gb or 250gb are both great choices.

it's only good if you don't use it to long or it will melt the movie disc and don't use it as a blue-ray player if you already have one
The PS3 is easily the best product i have ever owned! With it's 120 GB memory it was worth the $300.If you are wondering if you should purchase this product than you should 100%

Well first off I have newest 80gb,But last year on the 1st of June my familys apartment was ripped apart by fire,We lost almost everything,Somethings of value made it though but others like my big screen tv was melted in half But my PS3 made it out and still to this day works like a champ! For a product to say it does everything is a big thing but my ps3 can make it though a fire I would agree that they do do everything great job sony!!!!!!!!!!!
PS3 Vs XBOX 360
I own both PS3 and XBOX 360, side by side on (2) 48" screens you can't tell the difference and anyone that thinks they can is full of it. My XBOX 360 I had to purchase a wireless adapter $55.00, the PS3 connected the instant I turned it on with the built in wireless. I prefer the XBOX 360 hand controller, maybe I just got use to the button layout, had it 1.5 years before getting the PS3. The XBOX network costs $$$ by the month or year a gold membership like I have runs $50.00 per year. The PS3 no charge its all free, which amazed me since I wasnt use to not paying a fee to be on the live network. Games, they both have about the same choices and each has their own live network, so you cant play your buddies using an XBOX in the PS3 network. You can get Netflix or play Blu-Ray on either one, theres no difference in the picture. The one thing I liked about the PS3 is you can D/L software (PS3 Media server) and watch everything youve recorded on any PS3 system. With XBOX Ive recorded a few series (Fight Science) and they would not play on any other XBOX we have, message stated (has to be viewed from the recorded system). XBOX network has some new music channels, but heck I have plenty of CDs to listen to. All in all its a personal choice both are good systems, if your parent save a few bucks and buy the PS3 you wont have to pay for the live network. The only grip I have with either unit is, my boys (6) all want the same game (thats 6 games to buy $$$), each one has their own PS3 and (3) have an XBOX with the PS3. There should be a way for parents to save a few dollars when they own (6) units when it comes to buying games.
Very user friendly

I purchased this system for Yakuza 3, thinking I would just use it for that, and be done with it. But I use this system now to watch all of my DvD's and Blue ray movies as well. It gets very heated in the back most of the times, but does not seem to affect anything at all. I recommend this system to everyone ! :)
