Apple Nike iPod Sensor, Model MA368LLD

This wireless sensor works with your iPod nano, iPod touch (2nd generation), or iPhone 3G S to track your workouts. Insert it into the built-in pocket beneath the insole of your Nike+ shoe and pair it with your existing Nike + iPod receiver attached to your iPod nano. If you have an iPod touch (2nd generation) or iPhone 3G S, all you need to track your workouts is this wireless sensor. With its built-in support for Nike + iPod, your iPod touch (2nd generation) or iPhone 3G S can deliver all the benefits of the Nike + iPod Sport Kit without the extra receiver. This sensor is also perfect as a replacement for a sensor that has been lost or has exhausted its battery. Or it's great if you want to have a sensor for a second pair of Nike+ shoes.

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

My first one of these was dead in the package. Nike replaced it, no questions asked. So easy. It's nice for every level of athletic use. I'm a lightweight, but I find a ton of use for this. I suffer from occasional depression, and don't wish to use drugs. My doc suggested I track how much I move around through the day, and then up it. I wore a uniform in the military at the time, and I couldn't just wear a big piece of plastic on my belt, so a pedometer was out. I found a neoprene pouch you can tie in with your laces that discretely conceles this little guy on your shoe. With my iPod in my pocket, I was up and running. An I was hooked from there. On the website for Nike+, you can log a goal, watch your progress, compete or support with others. I connected with an old Navy buddy of mine who is an athlete. He does a lot of running, and is across the country from me. Of course, I will not be competeing with him, I'm more a bike rider than a runner, but he does help encourage me on my walking distance goals. He, in turn, does compete with many of his running friends all over the world. He loves it! This thing isn't as popular as it should be, and I think it's a shame. It's a great tool!

With the I Phone 3Gs the software and sensor are already in the phone so it literally took seconds to get it up and me running

pretty accurate calibration right out of the box. very easy to use and set up. remember to sync after every run and fully shut off your itouch.

I use the iPod Sensor with the Nike+ Sportband. It serves as a great pace/distance/time monitor. The performance is very accurate and reliable. The sensor works with Nike+ shoes as well as with holders for non-Nike shoes.
