I would highly recommend this washer to anyone who is buying a front loader! I previously owned a frigidaire (smaller tub) front loader and noticed the first time washing white clothes in my new whirlpool they were whiter, brighter, cleaner!!! This washer is excellent. The only thing I do not like about it is the time it takes for washing white clothes (2 hours), but they come out cleaner, so....I can live with that.

Machine is only a few years old. We did purchase an extended warranty and, of course, it has just expired. Recently, it has started beeping after putting a load of clothes in to wash. It gets stuck on the wash cycle and then we hear the beep and have to turn the machine off so it will drain and then we restart it. If we attempt to restart on "wash", it does the same thing. So we have to start it on "drain and rinse". So much for being HE. The door to the machine is always left open to avoid a mildew smell. A couple of weeks ago, we went to use the machine and found it filled with water and leaking all over the floor. Needless to say, we are extremely disappointed. Don't know if anyone from Whirlpool ever reads these remarks, but it is the first and last product we will ever buy from Whirlpool, and that means ANY PRODUCT.

Washing Machine bearings go after a few years
from Langley, BC Canada
Comments about Whirlpool Duet WFW9250WW White Front Load Washer:
It was a great washing machine, very quiet, but the bearings went only after a few years and at the 5 year mark we had to get a new washing machine. Very disappointing.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

6 repairs in 3 years!
By frustrated working mom
from Ellenville, NY
BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY! We have replaced the drum due to inferior metal in the supports twice and are are awaiting the third repair. We have also replaced the door seal three times. Clothes have been ripped or caught in the seal and left with a gray rubber residue. Countless items ruined, including a school issued soccer uniform. Never buying another front loader or whirlpool.

biggest hunk of junk
UGH! where to begin with this heap!!! -- the seals are a joke -- we have had 4 replacements now -- the pump filter is in the most awkward spot and is near impossible to open and clean yourself -- the creates a problem when this washer will literally eat socks and get them stuck in the filter constantly. We have permanently removed the bottom panel of our washer because of how often this happens -- problem when the filter gets clogged is that the washer wont drain -- and when you open the filter -- it drains all over your floor with Stinky, mucky, gross muddy water. It also tears your clothes on the spin cycle. Basically -- Run, run far from this Model --- I bought whirlpool because I trusted the name - I regret my decision to waste our hard earned money on this pile of garbage!
Run to Another

This model failed a week before the warranty expired. It is an electronic mess of rinky-dink quality parts for the circuit boards. Nothing but trouble.
Broke after 4.5 years
By Brian C.
from Corona, CA
It worked well enough for close to five years. It did eat up about ten T-Shirts in that time, making what appeared to be burn-marks on their sleeves and eating away at the material.I would expect a washer to last 10-15 years, not 5. I will be actively avoiding Whirlpool products.
Look away: lasted five years
Ours worked well for five years and then abruptly stopped. The service tech said that it would cost more to fix than for a new one.

Don't do it
We've had this machine for about four years. In that time, it's wrecked at least a dozen pieces of clothes - jeans, jackets and shirts come out looking like they have friction burns on them with chunks missing (i don't overload the washer). Additionally, I've replaced the bellows once, and the drain pump twice. We're looking at Speed Queens to replace.
It does a great job of washing large loads. My old washer left spots of lint on clothes and my Whirlpool leave my clothes spotless!

First Front Load Washer for our home
from Apex N.C.
While this front load washer is nice to look at the care and feeding of this machine may well have a longer return of investment that imagined. The requirement to clean monthly with a costly cleaner is offsetting the cost savings of the lesser detergent.
