I would have to say that on reading the negative reviews here, I was a little skeptical. Taking the advice of Consumer Reports, though, I gave this machine a shot. I'm really glad I did. ALL of the negative comments here can be avoided by reading the owner's manual. Not enough water? You aren't setting the machine right. Unbalanced load? You are stuffing WAAAY too much in here. Just read the manual, follow the directions, and you will be thrilled with this washing machine.

This machine overall has some great features - but really misses the mark by trying to be so energy efficient that it doesn't allow enough water in the tub to properly suspend clothing and agitate fluidly. Pretty much it just wets your clothes - then grinds and wads them up into a big mess - tearing out tags etc. Once this machine wadded an entire load into one giant ball of severly tangled fabric - such that it could not even spin because of the extremely unbalanced load. When I have manually filled the tub to the proper water level - once the agitation part of the wash cycle began - the machine performed beautifully - but who wants to be on standby to do this two to three times per cycle? This machine has good potential but needs some serious re-design work - especially as regards water level options. Also - if you actually turn the machine off for any reason - it automatically empties the machine - not allowing one to return to a cycle already underway. I had to return my machine.

Comments about Maytag Bravos Series MVWB750WB Black Top Load Washer:
am told that Maytag has discontinued this model. Have been having issues with the machine and am told by the technician that we are overloading the machine which is not true since the machine just wont activate if overloaded. Can Maytag help me fix the problem?
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Standing up to the challenge of capacity!

I purchased this washer over 5 years ago and it is still going strong. I love the capability of having different settings to was special items vice a standard washer to satisfy all items. We have 6 on our family and this washer sees allot of laundry. It is still standing up to the challenge!

I have had this washer around 5 years had trouble since the first week of owning this brand-new! Brought it at brandsmart, the last three times they came out I was told that they finally figured out it's the tub is shot the sespension etc. They should've caught it the first time now they only want to give me $430.14 or replace it with a GE model GTW680BSJ-WS washer not even close to what I have! DO NOT PURCHASE!

We used to have a pair General Electric. My wife was thinking to get a new pair. We were thinking may tag is a good brand name and better products. We were wrong. Our washer is making loud noises when spinning. Dryer is losing the dry vent nut almost causing the house on fire. My dryer model is wesb850wqo. Need to save money for pre pair the dryer. We did not used the dryer this week. Just a mistake on maytag products.
Not good for longevity....
When it worked it was great. After 4 years, the spin cycle sounded like a jet engine was taking off. To have it repaired would be over $500, so we're trying to stretch it out as long as we can. Now, it says it's an unbalanced load (with 2 underarmour lightweight items!) and won't complete the spin cycle. We're wringing out the clothes to put in the dryer. SO disappointed with this...
