I would have to say that on reading the negative reviews here, I was a little skeptical. Taking the advice of Consumer Reports, though, I gave this machine a shot. I'm really glad I did. ALL of the negative comments here can be avoided by reading the owner's manual. Not enough water? You aren't setting the machine right. Unbalanced load? You are stuffing WAAAY too much in here. Just read the manual, follow the directions, and you will be thrilled with this washing machine.

This machine overall has some great features - but really misses the mark by trying to be so energy efficient that it doesn't allow enough water in the tub to properly suspend clothing and agitate fluidly. Pretty much it just wets your clothes - then grinds and wads them up into a big mess - tearing out tags etc. Once this machine wadded an entire load into one giant ball of severly tangled fabric - such that it could not even spin because of the extremely unbalanced load. When I have manually filled the tub to the proper water level - once the agitation part of the wash cycle began - the machine performed beautifully - but who wants to be on standby to do this two to three times per cycle? This machine has good potential but needs some serious re-design work - especially as regards water level options. Also - if you actually turn the machine off for any reason - it automatically empties the machine - not allowing one to return to a cycle already underway. I had to return my machine.

I'm very pleased with this washer. I followed the other reviews & read the directions before & as I'm still learning to use it & I haven't had any problems. I can't wait to get my water bill because compared to my old washer, this one seems to use a lot less water & everything turns out much cleaner! How do they do that?!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Happy with this machine.
from Carol Stream, IL
My wife and I are quite happy with this machine in the month that we've owned it so far. It appears to perform well. This is our first machine without an agitator. The technology in the machine appears to do quite well without it. It is also easier to put it and remove bulkier items without the agitator getting in the way.It is an adjustment for us to not be able to set the water level in the machine. However, the clothes do not feel soapy after the rinse. We took another reviewer's advice and read the manual...it helped.I am not a fan of the digital beeps the machine insists on making as feedback for the settings. There is not a button to turn off these sounds.
Service and delivery comments:
Quite happy with delivery and installation. No issues.

Rearrange load atleast 3 times
from Burlington NJ
Since there is no agitator sheets spread out during spin and collects pillowcases into it as it spins into a ball. Any more than four blouses then you have a tangled mess - forget about washing more than two bras. I have to unwrap every load at least three times. I also use the extra rinse on every load because the of the low water issue.

READ THE MANUAL!!!!!
from CHICAGO AREA
BOTTOM LINE ON THIS WASHER!! Read the manual. the complaints on this machine could be diverted if u put clothes in lightly do not pack in. also place clothes around sides of tub do not cover imperpeller!! thats what makes them get twisted.PUT like articles in for example heavy stuff with heavy stuff. Yeah there is less water but we are so used to gallons and gallons of water pouring into the machine with the old agitator washing machines If u put small itemS with bulky they r going to get twisted just as mine did with my old machine! I have had this machine for two weeks and I am pleased so far!!! READ THE MAUAL!!!!

Comments about Maytag Bravos Series MVWB750WR Crimson Red Top Load Washer:
There is too little water, with large loads the top items can and do remain dry.Delicates totally twisted beyond salavation in 'washer' configuration.I don't know how energy efficient this product can be when the cyles are so long and the clothes are still not clean!

THIS is a very cool machine!
from Chicago IL
I use my new Maytag Bravos for all household wash chores including heavily soiled towels used for cleaning. For each of the uses it excels over my old style agitator washer.Even watching and listening to the operation of the machine is a mechanical marvel. The only thing I can say is less than optimal is the fact that it typically twists pants and shirts and sheets. To rectify you only need to untwist before placing in the dryer.
