THIS is a very cool machine!

I use my new Maytag Bravos for all household wash chores including heavily soiled towels used for cleaning. For each of the uses it excels over my old style agitator washer. Even watching and listening to the operation of the machine is a mechanical marvel. The only thing I can say is less than optimal is the fact that it typically twists pants and shirts and sheets. To rectify you only need to untwist before placing in the dryer.

Well Intentioned with Major Flaw

This machine overall has some great features - but really misses the mark by trying to be so energy efficient that it doesn't allow enough water in the tub to properly suspend clothing and agitate fluidly. Pretty much it just wets your clothes - then grinds and wads them up into a big mess - tearing out tags etc. Once this machine wadded an entire load into one giant ball of severly tangled fabric - such that it could not even spin because of the extremely unbalanced load. When I have manually filled the tub to the proper water level - once the agitation part of the wash cycle began - the machine performed beautifully - but who wants to be on standby to do this two to three times per cycle? This machine has good potential but needs some serious re-design work - especially as regards water level options. Also - if you actually turn the machine off for any reason - it automatically empties the machine - not allowing one to return to a cycle already underway. I had to return my machine.
