It dehumidifies well, is easy use, is easy to empty, and is easy to move around. I got this for a large (1000sqft), finished, and just slightly damp basement, and it is serving that purpose well.At first, I emptied the bucket twice a day. After about a week of that, I only need to do it once a week or so. It's cold and the heat is on, so that probably helps too. (Also - I have it set at 50% humidity, and the basement wasn't very damp in the first place.)The biggest issue with this is the fan noise. When it's running, it's pretty loud. It's a little quieter on the 'low' fan speed versus the 'high', but not as much as I was expecting. 'Low' is still too loud. The other annoying issue is the tendency for the unit to start and stop. It will detect the humidity is getting too high and start up, then shut back off after about 10 minutes. A few minutes later, it will do it again. I'd much prefer it just run for longer to get the level lower than necessary, then shut off for longer.Because of the noise issue, sometimes I'll turn it off when I'm in the room. (Easy to do - just push the power button. Push it again to turn it back on with the last settings. Simple.)The manual says to keep it 16-18+ inches away from a wall, if that matters to you. It's on wheels, so it's pretty easy to move around. The bucket is very easy to empty. It even has a handle to carry it with. It seems well designed, and I have zero problems with the way it works. The unit is easy to operate. The controls are simple and easy to understand. No problems there. The manual says to clean the air filter every 250 hours that the fan runs. Keep that in mind if you're going to run it continuously - that's every 10 days. You need to keep the filter clean to keep the coils clean. There's an indicator light to remind you.All in all, I'm pretty pleased. If it were quieter and didn't start and stop, I think it'd be perfect. I researched other dehumidifiers, and they all have similar noise issues. Given that, the GE brand (who knows - it may still mean something), and the ease of use of this unit, I have no regrets.

It pulls out moisture, even in a chilly room. I like the user interface. It's not a quiet unit, but the noise is only from the fan: no banging or rattling. I have doubts about the accuracy of the humidity display, and a short time after the unit turns off (due to reaching setpoint) it turns back on. I don't believe the room humidity increased by 5 or 10% in two minutes. Still, it does take the moisture out.

Nice unit for the money

I've liked at many and this one was great priced and very quite running
from Akron, OH, United States
I purchased this unit the evening of May 23rd 2016. Set the humidity level and chose the 2-hour setting. However, the unit shuts completely down after 2-hours, panel lights are no longer lit and it NEVER comes back on after the 2-hour interval. I thought it would cycle on and off as needed, but it seems the user must manually turn it on again. My old ComfortAire dehumidifier had the selection of a 2-hour or 4-hour setting and it would cycle on as needed. However, unit is VERY QUIET, which is one reason I purchased it. Hope it lasts for some time.

Simple clean design. Love the fan settings to keep things quiet (being used in home office). Easy to clean, barely know its there.
Great continuous water drawoff connection
from Cleveland, TN
I go through a new dehumidifier every 2-3 years because they don't keep a charge longer. I've seen many awkward connections for continuous water drawoff that always require lots of effort and a lot of creativity to make a connection. This unit is great...insert garden hose with female connection, screw onto hose bib fitting in unit and snake hose to your drain, Done. I would have given a 5 rating, but I don't know how long the unit will last.
Does the job
I have been using this for about a month and it has been doing a great job. We had high humidity in our basement area and the first day we used it, the humidity level dropped drastically and has remained so up to date.
Nice features, working well

The controls are very use friendly with good feedback. Took the moisture out of a very wet basement laundry room very quickly. 75% down to 50% in a mater of a few hours.
