I bought this set because I needed to replace some cookware leftover from college, and I wanted to get something that would last me the rest of my cooking days. The pieces were exactly the ones that I needed to replace, and the price was right.

When I received the set I was surprised to find a bonus stainless steel mixing bowl in the set. This is almost my favorite piece -- and is definitely something I wouldn't have thought to purchase on my own since I have pyrex mixing bowls that I use on a regular basis. It has measurements etched into the stainless steel and is the perfect size for making bread dough, which I make several times a week.

While I'm not a professional chef, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I make most everything from scratch (including condiments) for my six member family. I feel that this set will hold up to the kind of use they are going to get in my kitchen.

I was impressed with how quickly they heat up water to boiling, and how comfortable the pans are to maneuver even though they are heavy in weight.

I was slightly disappointed that after the first use they looked "used" -- at least on the inside, but my husband reminded me that we didn't buy them to look at them or display them, but to use them. I can keep the outsides nice and shiny without too much trouble, so overall I'm happy. The instructions say that if you add salt to dishes before the food is really cooking or boiling that the pan will pit -- I've found that even if you wait till cooking, the pan still pits. They also blue easily . . . even when following the directions. But once again I'm interested in how well the cookware preforms, not how pretty they are.

Overall I think they are a good value.
