There is great pleasure in using the right tool for the job. I feel that way about my dryer (and washer, too). Press the LED light to indicate the combination of time and temperature you want - or go with the automated details for the kind of load you are drying. It's quiet and chimes when it's finished. I like to be gently summoned. I hope these well-designed machines will be with me for a long time.

We purchased this dryer to replace our awesome GE DCVH680GWH that we bought from ABT a few years ago but had to leave behind when we moved. We had heard good things about the Electrolux brand, and noticed taht there was a recent price drop, so went for it.This dryer is large and efficient, which is both a blessing and a curse. It can hold a giant load of clothes, but smaller loads don't always get dry. The sensors in the back fo the dryer require regular contact with the clothes to dry properly, and so for "engergy efficiency" will rapidly move the countdown timer forward if they don't sense the amount of moisture they're expecting. When smaller loads are running, they all tumble toward the front of the dryer (near the door) resulting in the sensors thinking the load is dryer than it is, ending in a damp-dry load. It's not very efficient to have to run two cycles, or use the timed dry feature and risk over-drying a load. We did not have this problem with our GE; even though it was less expensive it was still "smart" enough to dry any size or type of load. We'll probably make the adjustment over time, but it was enough of a bother initially that we had two service calls before the master technician explained the sensor issue to us. In any case, the unit has been mechanically solid so far; we have not had a chance to use the steam cycle yet, but are glad to have the option. It's quiet. The controls are a little clunky and slow, but again, not a huge problem. I am recommending this dryer, but only to those who are not doing small loads of clothes; get this if you have a large family or need to wash a lot of things at one time most of the time, or if you're ok with just using the timed drying cycle.

Gas dryer does not dry
Comments about Electrolux 8.0 Cu. Ft. EIMGD55I Blue Gas Front Load Dryer:
I have to run the dryer at least two times to dry my clothes. Towels are the worst. What is the deal. i spend more money running it than an electric one and i am considering getting rid of this dryer for an electric one and the gas dryer is only 2 years old
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Electrolux Gas Dryer
The dryer works very well. It is stackable to sit atop our washer which is a nice space saving feature. The dryer is easy to use with many nice preprogrammed cycles and the ability to set a favorite setting. It runs very quietly and dries our laundry quickly and efficiently.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Great Size, Great Features
My fiancee and I both work alot, so we are only able to do laundry about once every 2 weeks. This dryer fits a lot of clothes in it, so biweekly laundry isn't a hassle! It also has alot of different options for cycles, clothing type, and temperature. The only negative I have come across is that sometimes clothes may need to be dried twice.
it really is the best!
my laundry is coming out cleaner and faster than ever before. and that steam is great!
Good but sensor status unclear
I bought this to replace and match my old dryer that had simple two option dryer setting: permanent press and regular w dampness sensor. This dryer has many many options plus the steam. It is fancy and large capacity which I love. However, the settings are too many and too confusing and I don't even know if it is doing the dampness sensing as all the settings have a set time. With the amount of load I haven't times myself a load cycle to see if the duration of cycle is extended it shortened. I've had a few cycle that ended damper than expected and I was hoping the dryer had "fuzzy intelligence" to adjust to the correct dryness according to the setting but I have been disappointed.
This machine has a lot options. The steam clean works very well and is very useful.
Absolutely love the washer and dryer set...cleanest clothes ever!
Works great no problems have had them for about 1month
problems within 16 months
Tthe dryer itself worked fine. Not any better, however, than the much lower-priced dryer I replaced. Within the first 16 months the dryer stopped working. I had purchased an extended warranty through the store I bought the dryer from, a locally-owned business. That was my first mistake. Purchase the extended warranty through Electrolux. The local company could not send a tech for two weeks. I called Electrolux to find out that parts were still under the original warranty during the second year, and they kindly issued a voucher to cover the labor. They also arranged for a tech to come the same day. That all sounds good, except he came and said it needed new rollers. They had to be ordered. The local warehouse only had two, so the other three had to be ordered. It took another two weeks for them to come in, so I ended up being without the dryer for one month. While Electrolux went above and beyond to help me get the issue corrected, I would not recommend the dryer because I feel that a dryer of this price range should not be breaking down within 16 months of purchase in a home that has two empty-nesters and a minimal amount of laundry loads.
This is one great dryer! We have had front load washers and dryers for over forty years but this one is by far the best. With its huge drum and special features like steam, options for drying, etc. it has been a real pleasure to work with.
