This washer is less than a year old and it randomly eats or burns holes in our clothes. I wash about 3 to 4 loads a week and it has destroyed probably at least one item a week since I have owned it. Today was the last straw and I went and purchased a samsung washer to replace it when it ate my daughter's brand new swimsuit she wore once. They have already been out once and replaced the rubber seal but it started again almost immediately. I bought this washer because of the small load option but have regretted this purchase almost from the beginning. I replaced a frigidare front load washer that lasted us twelve years with absolutely no issues and would still have if the bearing had not gone out and would have cost more to repair than new one. Almost wish I would have taken that avenue now. Hopefully the samsung will be a better option. But I absolutely hate this whirlpool!!

Aggravated to tears with this washer
Comments about Whirlpool Duet WFW9150WW White Front Load Washer:
Have had 5 service calls in less than 5 years. Leaking gasket/water leak out the door twice Belt slipped once and needed replacement when it slipped a second time...torn gasket with $100 replacement a month ago, drum springs needed replacement. Did all of that and now, 5 weeks later making horrific creaking sound, and drum is so off balance and loose it felt like an earthquake was shaking the house. Again, stuck without a washer. Never again will I but a front load washer ( Have had Whirlpool washers before that lasted more than a decade with heavy use). Even when washer was working, it would alarm whether the loads were large or small, indicating off balance and unable to spin. I cannot ever wash a couple of delicate items… they will not spin…I have had to unload heavy, sopping wet loads to either drag them out to my deck to drip dry, or rebalance load and run again…and again.Frustrating and a waste of almost $700.00
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Front load washers are nice and convenient but HIGH MAINTENANCE. If you don't do your homework first - buyer beware. There was cycles are LONGER than a top load - which I didn't know, they will stink if you don't take care of them and so will your clothes. This is the only model that I have experience with and I do not think there are enough features/wash cycles.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This washer is horrible. I am having the front gasket replaced for the 4th time. We are finally going to get a new washer. It tears clothing up and has mysterious holes in the front seal appear allowing water to drain out onto the floor. Worst washer ever!!!!!

Eats my clothes
I hate this washer. My clothes get stuck in it all time no matter how careful I am and they get torn and also tare the gasket. I have blown through my warranty limit a year before it was up. It does not self level loads so if they are slightly off balance it sounds like someone is banging a hammer inside the washer. I strongly recommend that you do not purchase this washer.

very quiet. uses little water. Cleans well. The only negative is that it does not have a separate spin cycle. I tried to wash a bathroom rug. It did not spin out in the normal cycle. I put it through rinse and spin and still was sopping wet. Had to take it to my sisters maytag and it spun out fine

I bought this washer in 2010 after I moved into my new house, the washer worked fine for the first couple of years, and then it started to put holes in my clothes. It's crazy how many pieces of clothing it has destroyed in the past year until we realized that there is a tear on the rubber seal that is making clothes getting caught when they are being washed. I come to know this is a known problem with the model, and it is just crazy how much cloth i lost due to this problem.. In any case, I will never buy a Whirlpool again.

i was skeptical at first, hearing rumors of negative responses from other owners. but i love the decision i made to purchase my set. it cleans well uses a lot less water. and can hold up to our steady circulation of laundry. i will always recommend a whirlpool washer and dryer.
Great washer, excellent buy
I upgraded from a very old, well used washer. I love that it is efficient, but quiet. Only negative I have found (and easily fixed) is the bending over to load and unload.

I am impressed with the excellent performance and the quiet , relatively short cycle.
