The stainless steel case has not been an issue for us. I love the large amount of space and the ease of moving the shelves (the shelves have a release slider that needs to be moved before the shelves can be moved). Please do note that if you are 5'2" like me - it may be somewhat awkward to reach the very back of the refrigerator - but, it is worth it! I do wish that the compartment in the door for milk cartons or 2-liter bottles had a taller piece in front of them - as I'm afraid that if the door is shut too quickly the bottles will tip out. I had read that needing to open both doors to then open the center drawer might be an issue. It is not an issue, but, I kinda of wished that I had gotten the drawer on the outside. Also, note that it takes time to learn to how to pull out the veggie drawers so that the metal rails (so very good to have metal and not plastic parts) stay with the drawer. I had called Electrolux Customer Service to ask about the veggie drawers and I was provided with excellent customer service! I love the size of the freezer and the ease of use. The ice tray holds a very large amount of ice. The "soft drawer" in the freezer is a great addition! This refrigerator would have gotten 5 stars, if the noise level of the refrigerator was lower. We can hear the refrigerator over a TV program (and we have a partial wall between the TV room and the refrigerator), it sounds like both water running and a very fast ticking clock. We knew the ice maker made noise, but, this noise occurs randomly and we were told by our installer that's just the way it is. Overall, I'd buy it again!

Thought I was buying a high end unit when replacing a 20yr old Amana fridge that kept ruining food. At [$] set-up and water line costs, I felt a little uneasy about spending 3k for a fridge. Did months of research on brand reliability through Consumer Reports as well as blogs and complaint boards online. Unit was delivered in June of 2010 and I had my first problem within 2 months of ownership. The ice maker was busted and required new parts. This was a known production problem from the manufacturer and they sent out a replacement "kit" to fix the problem. Then a couple months later the water dispenser started to break at random intervals (Up to 2 weeks at a time). Was told that this was also a manufacturer defect and they sent out another "kit" to fix the front dispenser panel circuit board. After continuing failures with the water dispenser I had one more service call to take a look and they could not find anything wrong with the unit. Repair man told me that Electrolux is known for making nice vacuums, how's that for a statement! Electrolux bought a company within the past couple years that manufactured the fridge and they slap their name on the front. Time to move on from Electrolux. Four service calls in 7 months is a terrible track record for a fridge and an indicator of things to come. I was told by the 20 year repairman veteran that after sitting through a repair seminar on Electrolux that the front circuit board would probably break again right after 4yr warranty runs out (at a cost of $500) and to stick to two brands for appliances: Subzero for fridge and Wolf for stove/range. Take that for what its worth. I figured that I would try and get a similar looking unit but without the front panel access for water and ice, leaving me with less moving parts to break down. Checked out the Jenn-Air and Viking model at same price point and they were both poorly made for a $3k fridge after hands on inspection. Not to mention smaller cubic footage of 19.6 versus 23. Well, bottom line is that I have no intention of doubling down my sunk cost to $7k for a new fridge and decided to try out the Bosch (only one ABT sells). Will be delivered this Saturday. Hopefully selecting a long time maker of fridge's will get me the longevity I was looking for, along with a $1000 savings. Guess that will go toward a 65in plasma. This one is mind blowing...Learned that through company mergers, Whirlpool now owns all of the following brands: Amana, Estate, Gladiator, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Maytag, Roper and Viking. Not to mention that there are some sub brands that fall under each of these "makers".Tell me that they are not all using the same parts from China and won't have similar reliability. As an aside after all of my research their were a couple brands that stood out with a big RISK factor for repair and failure. LG, Samsung, GE

Comments about Electrolux EI23BC56IS Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer Counter Depth Refrigerator:
I purchased this refrigerator about a month ago. Had to remove the doors to get it into the kitchen but for once a manual explained the process well. Also noticed a small clip was missing for one of the sliding drawers. I called customer service the next day and there was no hesitation in getting the small replacement part out in the mail. The person I spoke with was courteous and quick to get the issue resolved...A+. The features on and in the frig are more than our family needs, but the price at our local retailer was too good to pass up. The soft close drawers are great. And it runs very quietly so hoping that continues for years! Overall...great so far.

I love my fridge but the icemaker is another story. I've had it 5 months and it has been serviced 5 times and still doesn't work. I'm beside myself. I don't know what to do.

I purchased this product about a month ago and love the convenience, features and design of it. I think I have influenced family and friends who have come to my home and love the style, interior features and exterior design of the refrigerator. I am so happy thus far with the decision of purchasing the Electrolux refrigerator with the IQ touch controls (which is totally awesome). I love the water filter and refrigerator filter design...somebody used their brains on this one. Thanks you guys !!. Lisa
Great design. And large storage space

Refrigerator was already decided by builder as we bought our new home. I am really satisfied with it and could not have taken better choice.

The design of this unit is horribly flawed. We kept finding the freezer partially open. Usually when we discover it, it has been open for hours. The inside now filled with frost and all of the food partially thawed. We called the repair service to have someone come out and fix it. We were told that there was nothing wrong with the refrigerator but that we were closing it wrong. We push it shut, how exactly is that wrong? It turns out that if you don't push it closed applying exactly equal pressure across the the width of the drawer the left side of the drawer will not shut completely. This is a refrigerator not a delicate scientific instrument, you should be able to just push the drawer shut. without having to use a special technique. Also our first refrigerator was replaced by the appliance dealer when the ice make failed one week after delivery.

I recently extended my kitchen and had a complete renovation. The Electrolux refrigerater goes perfectly with the other appliances and is a beautiful addition in the new space. It has great features. Its spacious inside, yet it's sleek and modern. The temperature control drawers keep fruit and vegetables crisp and fresh. The additional drawer, also with temperature control, for some meats, cheese, or wine is an added plus! The freezer is ample with divisions for easy storage. The soft serve drawer for ice cream is also an added plus! I am very happy with my choice.

I bought this a month ago right before Christmas. It is a sharp looking refrigerator. The chill drawer is excellent. We had an issue with the icemaker but they promptly replaced and its working fine now. It has a large tray for ice..
