We are very pleased with this refrigerator. We traditionally chose a side-by-side for our refrigerator design but decided to switch to the french-door style in hopes of making up for some annoyances the side-by-side offers. Our primary complaint with the side-by-side is that we would always have to move items around or pull some out to get to other items in the back. Since the french-door LG refrigerator has two doors at the top, access to your grocery items is much easier. The lighting (LED) is bright and doesn't provide the problematic shadow areas that some side-by-sides include. We also like the ice maker that is integral with the door for the LG french-door ... definately a space saver but still allows you to get both ice (crushed or cubed) and water. The count-down clock (in months) is also a nice touch so you can actually plan ahead and get a replacement water filter. Other models simply have a light that comes on or a light that provides you very little warning. This unit is also very quiet (an absolute necessity for a refrigerator). If you have seen complaints before about the noise of this refrigerator, check the model numbers. An older french-door style version did have an issue with their compressor, however, this issue does not exist in the LFX25975ST. Finally, you may still be wondering about the details that makes the LG a better choice. Here are two for consideration. First, check the seals in between the top two doors. These simply flex when you close the refrigerator to form a tight seal. Compare this to the door seal on other brands and you will notice that they include a plastic/metal bar that extends when the door is closed and retracts when the door is open. LG didn't use this mechanism in their door design since the "bar" type can be problematic. When the bar is extended, it can also limit your access to the refrigerator. The LG's design is trouble-free and easier to clean. Finally, LG even included a rubber strip at the bottom of the refrigerator to prevent lint, dust, and pet hair from getting under the refrigerator which potentially clogs the evaporator coils. The rubber strip doesn't eliminate all dust, but helps minimize the amount that gets trapped under your refrigerator. Ask yourself, "How much fun do I have when I have to vacuum out the coils in my refrigerator?" That is attention to detail. My only con, is that the temperature display reflects the temperature you want the refrigerator/freezer to be set to ... it does not reflect the actual temperatures. This would be a nice feature to see in future models but is the only con we can come up with.

We bought this refrigerator a few months back. I was set on a bottom freezer and I liked the eaze of having ice and water outside the door. However, the ice and water are somewhat hard to use without making a mess. The water dispenser is touchy and sits out so that it virtually impossible to not splatter. The inside of the refridge is hard to organize. There is very little door storage space as compared to a side-by side. Almost the entire left side is taken up with the ice and water dispenser. It is difficult to organize shelves so that you can get to items easily and only a few tall items can fit in. We are still struggling on where to stand up an open wine bottle.

EXTRA COLD, EXTRA ROOM
from Texas, United States
I've had this refrigerator for a little over a year and I love it. There is so much more room than in a side by side style. It keeps food very cold. I didn't get the 3rd drawer style because I didn't think I would get into that drawer that much, but we do. I'd consider that option next time. The water dispenser is a little odd, because of the location (in the very front of the opening- the ice comes out at the back) but works very well. It doesn't make as much ice as some, but has a bin in the freezer where you can dump the ice already made. I knew this already before purchasing and it really hasn't been a problem. I use lots of ice and it is sufficient for me. If another ice loving person is here, then I need to dump the ice bin at night to make extra ice.

Great Space Few Changes
from Harwood, MD, United States
I love this fridge. The temperature gauges are right! All my deli, dairy, greens and prepared foods have special temperature draws. The freezer is great with Square storage bins and Te two draws give me quick foods (breakfast sandwiches, nuggets, etc.) and raw foods separate spacing. However, after family use for over a year I have a few comments. The ice production is low, even with the fast button, so you will need to stock ice. The company has provided a tray for this, but it should have a cover. I end up using Ziplock bags. I would also like a built in egg draw which can hold eighteen eggs. It would fit very nicely on the same side as the ice maker and provide extra shelf space. They have upgraded this model to include a quick door for daily items. Buy That One! I would have, but it was not out when I got mine and the kids are always grabbing milk and snacks. It would resolve the open door syndrome.
Would be 5 stars if filtered water came out faster
from Sacramento, CA, United States
We love the fridge. Plenty of room for what we use (after removing one of the shelves). The controls are easy to use and the filter is simple to replace. The only gripe we have is the water dispenser is slow. Compared to other refrigerators that friends/family have, this seems like it's about 1/2 the speed of theirs. It does the job, but it gets tiring having to hold an ever-increasing weight longer than necessary.
This fridge is junk
The condensate drain plug constantly freezes over so the water drains into your freezer (and then all over the floor during defrost). The also ice maker stopped working.

Ice Maker in my fridge quit working right after the warranty was up and i am looking for parts and can't even find a parts breakdown of the unit. I am not gonna pay someone to replace the fan in my fridge when it is only a couple screws and a plug to replace it. had 1F error code which is ice fan which is the fan that blows the cold air into the slim plus ice system on the door to make it cold enough to freeze the ice. When the fan quits you can't get ice or water.
Ice maker and freezer problems
from Oregon, USA
For the first year there were no issues. I begin to notice water pooling in front of the freezer door. After a thorough investigation, I determined the freezer was collecting water in the bottom and it was leaking onto the floor. Once a week I clear the ice to avoid the damage. The ice-maker in the door consistently jams and has to be emptied and cleared.
LG Refrigerator Experience
We bought this refrigerator about 2 years ago and needed a refrigerator that met in a small width space, but gave us a decent enough capacity. We really like the refrigerator. The adjustable shelving and drawer space is perfect for our family needs, we especially the 2-drawer freezer option. There are a few things to note when considering this design. We had a water leak from the water line from valve assembly to ice maker/fresh water that had a crack in it. Also, the adjustable door shelves break very easily. Almost all of them have broken.
A fantastic buy
By Deeply delighted

Six months after purchasing a coop in New York, the refrigerator that came with the unit magically turned into an oven with soaring tempratures. Repairs promised to be astronimcal, and so grumbling and cursing, we went refrigerator shopping. In retrospect it was the best thing that could have happened to us. NY spaces are tight--and ours is no exception. This one magically however seems to have infinitely more inner space than the old unit. The interior is incredibly well designed and easy to reconfigure. The individual drawers with their own temperature settings are fantastic. The double freezer drawer is a new feature to us--now I wish we had always had one--and the ice maker ample for our needs. And the entire unit is quiet--not true of all refrigerators--making this one of the best purchases we have ever made. Yes it's a bit pricier than others we looked at, but with the 10 year warranty especially, this is a GREAT investment. If you're looking for a new refrigerator, you can't do better.
No issues so far and it works great
from Atlanta, GA
This replaces a GE side by side and the 3 door french style is so much more convenient. Only the left side door space is somewhat constrained by size of items that can be placed there, but having a smaller ice dispenser paves way for a lot more space inside.
