We are very pleased with this refrigerator. We traditionally chose a side-by-side for our refrigerator design but decided to switch to the french-door style in hopes of making up for some annoyances the side-by-side offers. Our primary complaint with the side-by-side is that we would always have to move items around or pull some out to get to other items in the back. Since the french-door LG refrigerator has two doors at the top, access to your grocery items is much easier. The lighting (LED) is bright and doesn't provide the problematic shadow areas that some side-by-sides include. We also like the ice maker that is integral with the door for the LG french-door ... definately a space saver but still allows you to get both ice (crushed or cubed) and water. The count-down clock (in months) is also a nice touch so you can actually plan ahead and get a replacement water filter. Other models simply have a light that comes on or a light that provides you very little warning. This unit is also very quiet (an absolute necessity for a refrigerator). If you have seen complaints before about the noise of this refrigerator, check the model numbers. An older french-door style version did have an issue with their compressor, however, this issue does not exist in the LFX25975ST. Finally, you may still be wondering about the details that makes the LG a better choice. Here are two for consideration. First, check the seals in between the top two doors. These simply flex when you close the refrigerator to form a tight seal. Compare this to the door seal on other brands and you will notice that they include a plastic/metal bar that extends when the door is closed and retracts when the door is open. LG didn't use this mechanism in their door design since the "bar" type can be problematic. When the bar is extended, it can also limit your access to the refrigerator. The LG's design is trouble-free and easier to clean. Finally, LG even included a rubber strip at the bottom of the refrigerator to prevent lint, dust, and pet hair from getting under the refrigerator which potentially clogs the evaporator coils. The rubber strip doesn't eliminate all dust, but helps minimize the amount that gets trapped under your refrigerator. Ask yourself, "How much fun do I have when I have to vacuum out the coils in my refrigerator?" That is attention to detail. My only con, is that the temperature display reflects the temperature you want the refrigerator/freezer to be set to ... it does not reflect the actual temperatures. This would be a nice feature to see in future models but is the only con we can come up with.

We bought this refrigerator a few months back. I was set on a bottom freezer and I liked the eaze of having ice and water outside the door. However, the ice and water are somewhat hard to use without making a mess. The water dispenser is touchy and sits out so that it virtually impossible to not splatter. The inside of the refridge is hard to organize. There is very little door storage space as compared to a side-by side. Almost the entire left side is taken up with the ice and water dispenser. It is difficult to organize shelves so that you can get to items easily and only a few tall items can fit in. We are still struggling on where to stand up an open wine bottle.

Too many problems!!
from Hernando Beach, FL
Comments about LG White Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:
I now have rust on the lower panel on the freezer pull out compartment. After many problems with the ice maker panel, water dispenser/rust, blocked air ducts, digital panel.....I have had it with this product. I have never used any products not designed for stainless steel and now I have several rusts pits beginning. This is junk!!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Have had for 2 years exactly. The Good: Great Ice and Water dispenser - - - so far. Use Reverse Osmosis supplied water to the frig., so hard water and related issues should not be an issue (please, oh please). Nice working freezer, no issue's. The Bad: We have the condensate problem in the frig. on the left wall also, runs down inside and out front of unit and we live in Arid Eastern Wa. State, what give here??? It could be the door gaskets (seals) at the top of both upper doors pealing out from friction between the 2 seals. 2 years and now have to replace at our expense??? I would expect better longevity from such a product that appeared to be a better quality. From the reviews I read, LG appears to be just another average product. For the price, would I recommend it over any other, - - - - - - - - well, not really.

i love this fridge. it's spacious but not too bulky that it takes up all the room. I love that it's stainless. It's a "pretty" fridge if I say myself. I also like the fact that the freezer is separated and that it's a pull out. i love it

Irene Met Her Match
from South Dennis, MA
Two years ago, my wife and I purchased an LG refrigerator, Model LFX25975ST/01, serial number 907KRAT01744, with a bottom drawer freezer and french doors on top. Thanks to Hurricane Irene, my wife and I lost electricity from 10:45AM Sunday through 9:30PM Thursday, 5 1/2 days. We had taken some precautions with the expectation that we might lose power (we dropped the freezer to -2 and stocked up on ice for our camp cooler), but we did not suppose that it would take that long for N-Star to get us back on-line. Upon losing power, we moved the essentials to the camp cooler with ice, but left the majority of food in the freezer and the refrigerator, and left the refrigerator and freezer untouched for the duration. When power was restored, we found that the food in the freezer was still frozen solid and the food in the refrigerator compartment was still cold and viable. Even a bowl of ice placed in the refrigerator as a precaution was ice-water on Thursday. We lost a few things from the camp cooler due to water saturation. However, none of the food in the freezer compartment had thawed, and none of the food in the refrigerator was spoiled or had any hint of spoiling. IN the long run, the LG refrigerator saved us considerably because we did not have to replace spoiled groceries or spend time cleaning out for spoiled contents. Our compliments to LG. A few weeks ago, when our KitchenAid dishwasher went bottom up for the 3rd or 4th time, we felt confident enough in your products to buy our new LDF6920ST dishwasher, of which we are anticipating many years of dependable service.

This product is great, there is a lot of space and it looks great. The only design flaw is the drip dish under the ice/water dispenser slowly builds up with hard water deposits, and since it is plastic... it is very hard to keep clean even with vinegar and water clean up. I've only had it for about a year now and it's already discolored beyond cleaning.
This is by far the best, most convenient, feature-packed, refrigerator/freezer we have ever owned. I just hope it continues to give us good service. Highly recommend this product.

Horrible Ice Dispenser
from Scottsboro, Alabama
We decided to replace our (still working fine) refrigerator with this one for the french doors, bottom freezer, and ice maker with crushed ice. We had crushed ice for about one week. The ice dispenser hangs up and the bin has to be removed to free it. We now only try to use cubed ice and the dispenser still hangs up. It is not broken, but it don't work!!! This refrigerator was delivered to us in early January 2010. VERY dissapointed with this product.

This is a great refrigerator. Having the ice maker fitted on the door means more shelf space! And on the shelves you can store so many items. I like the folding shelf on the top for high items such as wine/pots, etc. The cold cuts drawer keeps the items cold. The water dispensing feature is great, the water is at the perfect cold temperature. I just love the space and the fact that you can finally see what you have in the fridge. Also, this is a very quiet fridge. Combined with the fact that it should cost around $50 to run a year which is cheaper than running a light bulb!!!

We compared a lot of refrigerators before deciding on this one. I love all the storage space and the ability to get water and ice through the door. The little shelf to place glass or jug on when getting water and push button to dispense water is convenient. The built in water filter is great. No more buying all the bottles of water. The cheese drawer is so big a large pizza box fits in it. The separate drawer in the freezer is easy to store items most frequently used.
I love the interior size of the refrigerator. I love the stainless steel french doors. The freezer door on the bottom is great, but the ice maker is a problem. It takes several minutes for the ice to come out and then it comes out in a big heap, splashing all over the floor.
