Bought this after much research and price comparison. It fits our island perfectly and looks fantastic. Oven is a little slow to reach temperature. Gas burners are excellent. Simmer feature has been used a bunch and highly appreciated. Middle rear small burner is just right for slow heating soups. We are new to gas so have made a few mistakes and had to start over on some recipes. EZ oven rack is awesome, but sometimes slides too easily and it takes two people to handle a large dish. Convection works great. Hookup was easy and after bleeding air out of lines, burners lit with no trouble. Like the "Control Lock" feature as our cats like to check out the display from time to time. Only reason for some of the lower ratings is the oven heating issue, but we are getting used to it.

We purchased this range from our builder in 2010 with our home. It was converted to propane use, as our neighborhood has a central delivery propane system. It seems to cook very hot in comparison to natural gas, which I had previously. The range was very expensive (around $7500), yet the black finish on the top has totally burned off in spots after 3 years of fairly light usage. The black finish also scratches very easily. The burner covers are also discolored and un-cleanable. I also wish that this range had the option for a non-stick griddle. Disappointed in this KA range.

Handle Doesn't Match other Appliances
from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
Comments about KitchenAid Commercial Style Dual Fuel Stainless Steel Range:
I wanted a beautiful new kitchen with matching appliances. And the handle does not match the handle on my new dishwasher and my new wine refrigerator. If I would have known, I would have picked another brand. I would like a new door or handle with a beefy version of the handles on my other appliances with the red coin on the side of the handle. Very frustrated.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

very nice range
By Erin who cooks
from Indianapolis, IN
We just installed this a month ago and overall, we are very happy with it. It is very nice looking and functions well. The oven heats up quickly and the burners work well for the most part. My only knock is that on our 6 burner range, two of the largest most powerful burners are in the front on either side. These would be the most likely to be used, but you can only really use them well with large saute or frying pans or dutch ovens because the flames are so wide. The small burner in the front is the best one to use for smaller pans but if you are using a large pan on one side and the small burner in the middle, it can be kind of cramped. Overall we are happy with it though and it is very easy to use.

Hit or Miss
By Sad Remodeler
I bought this model 2 years ago. It worked great for the first 18 months and then the problems started. We couldn't cook frozen pizzas because the oven temp would never get up to 400 degrees. It would register 400 on the display, but the actual temp never got above 250. Worse, it only did this some of the time...so you could never count it for mealtime.

Probably should have purchased another brand
from Silicon Valley
Ok - now this can be a wonderful range. My issue is less than five years of ownership in a family home - the enamel on the oven door has chipped. Poor quality workmanship At least this occurred before I remodeled our family vacation home. I can look into other brands

We really like our new oven, but we were also surprised how long it takes to preheat. We also had problems shutting the oven door hard enough to continue cooking, but learned how to correct that. But what we can't get used to is the loud blower in the oven. It's so noisy , we can't hear the TV in the next room. We didn't know about the noise when we bought it, but otherwise, we're happy with the oven.

Technology is great when it works.
from St. James Plantation, NC
A week after the Range was installed all functions on the touch control panel stopped working. The entire panel had to be replaced. So much for quality control.I have tried to buy American but the electronics remind me of the old Jaguars which were nice to look at but not reliable.

We've had the 36" 6-burner stove for less than a year. I have NO complaints. Anyone who cooks here at home feels like a chef!! Burners and oven work great, I have not tried the convection or sabbath(?) setting yet.
Love my new stove!

I purchased this dual fuel counter height oven as a replacement for an old KitchenAid gas cooktop. We reworked an existing farmhouse kitchen to create seating for 6 instead of 2. I'm an avid cook and absolutely love its features, the commercial appearance and it gave my kitchen an additional oven. My favorite feature is the adjustable simmer, which is on 2 of the burners. The oven interior is very spacious. My downsides are minor. I agree with other reviewers that it does take additional time to warm the oven and the cooktop is a bit difficult to get it obsessively clean. Nothing that a microfiber cloth doesn't fix.

Element issue and no way to fix
from Carbondale Il
Have had 2 go out in 5 years. Element cannot be replaced because it's built in. They made us pay over $1000 to replace it and now the same issue has happened again.
from Centerville, MN
In the past ten years my family and I have built 2 homes and for each one we chose an entire suite of KitchenAid major appliances! The new models have beautiful styling and the functionality is well beyond what others have to offer. We couldn't be happier!
