This range looks absolutely beautiful but it is difficult to keep clean since it is black. Dust and grease always shows. I had some issues with one burner not lighting but the service was excellent and it was quickly repaired. Great for cooking for a crowd because many large pots can fit squarely on the burners. I would recommend it to anyone.

We purchased this range from our builder in 2010 with our home. It was converted to propane use, as our neighborhood has a central delivery propane system. It seems to cook very hot in comparison to natural gas, which I had previously. The range was very expensive (around $7500), yet the black finish on the top has totally burned off in spots after 3 years of fairly light usage. The black finish also scratches very easily. The burner covers are also discolored and un-cleanable. I also wish that this range had the option for a non-stick griddle. Disappointed in this KA range.

Great Stove, Oven Long to Heat Up
Comments about KitchenAid Commercial Style Dual Fuel Stainless Steel Range:
We spent months researching dual fuel gas ranges and selected this over Wolf and other brands. Overall I'm so happy with the gas range and find it easy to clean, however the black of the grills is already wearing off and we have had it for 3 months - just light scratches. The oven bakes amazing. My one complaint is it takes FOREVER to heat up (with the exception of broil). My old Kitchenaid from 2000 heated up faster to 475F than this oven! Aside from this issue, would highly recommend.

Quite large for short people
By Lisa S
The builder of our home provided this appliance. At first, I was very excited to own it. But it is huge compared to the ranges, stoves and ovens I've previously owned. The cast iron grates over the burners are very heavy and need to be removed often to clean the stove top. I am fairly short (5 ft 2 in), and the depth of the control panel, burner knobs, and oven handle in front of the range keeps me far away from the gas burners. The size of the oven is bigger than my needs. I also don't need all the oven features, such as the convection features.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
It is beautiful

This appliance is quite lovely in the kitchen and makes quite a statement, however, it is very slow to preheat and you have to be patient to not put items in the oven before the preheating is completed - doing so slows it down even more.
Looks and Cooks Great!

I first bought this in a new construction home about 2 years ago. We recently moved and built a home again in which I bought the same range I loved it that much! The only thing I would change if possible is making the top easier to clean.
Great Oven for a Great Price

We had about a 8 year old Wolf all gas Oven. It was nothing but trouble, needed constant expensive service as only a few people work on. The oven part didn't really cook evenly. Finally we decided it was costing as much to keep it going as it would be to buy a new oven. This oven is great cooks evenly. Cooktop burners fire quickly. I even think it looks better. I would highly recommend staying away from the Wolf type range and get this one.
I love this range!

I bought this range as an upgrade from my 25 year old cook-top with four dinky burners during a major kitchen remodel. This is a beast! With 2 - 20,000 BTU burners I can now use my wok properly. The 3 - 15,000 BTU burners handle must of my cooking chores and the 5,000 BTU burner is perfect for simmering or keeping things warm. We've used the oven using both the conventional and convection modes and everything has come out exactly spot on.

I am very happy with my new range. The dual fuel is great for baking. The burners work great and love the back simmer
This range is HOT!

We needed a complete kitchen of appliances for a new house we were building and spent untold hours of internet searching - comparing features and reading consumer reviews of ranges and dishwashers and refrigerators. My wife is an accomplished amateur gourmet cook and she wanted a range that could handle whatever culinary adventure she decided to tackle. It soon became obvious that KitchenAid - though certainly not the most "economical" brand available - was, by far, one of the most best overall values to be had. We have not been disappointed - the looks, the features and the performance are second to none. The wrong tools can turn even a passion into a chore - but the right tools make it a dream. This is the right tool for us.

This was purchased in conjunction with our kitchen remodel, and replaced an aging (25 plus years) Wolf range. We literally spent months researching this purchase, as it is the heart of our new kitchen, and we are highly satisfied with the result. The range has the cooktop power of our old Wolf, at half the price, with the ehancement of even cooking in the oven thanks to dual fuel. My wife is a baker and one of our sons is a professional chef, and both of them are most pleased witht the performance of the range.
