My old dishwasher (circa 1977) finally quit on me this winter. So, I decided to look for a reasonalbly-priced replacement. This Whirlpool is by far the best value I could find after many weeks of searching the internet. I have no complaints, cleans the dishes and looks good doing it. ABT's service and delivery were excellent.

I read about this being loud but it isn't at all. Easy to load. Has done a good job of cleaning and the cycle isn't as long as my old machine. I stepped down a price point after reading about how awkward the silverware holder is for the next model up. It's fine in this model. Have had this for about a month. the one thing I miss in this model is a quick rinse cycle.

Delivery was prompt and efficient. They even moved my old dishwasher to the curb where I get free pickup.

Does what it's supposed to do without unnecessary bells and whistles.
Recommendation from installers to use powdered detergent, not liquid or gel, doesn't jibe with Instruction booklet.
The 1-hour cycle is a plus.

This dishwasher comes with a flyer announcing that the machine will take 2 to 3.5 hours to clean dishes (my old dishwasher cleaned/dried dishes in less than an hour) and that dishes won't dry properly unless you spend extra money buying a "rinse aid" (which puts chemicals on your plates and utensils).
None of this information was in the specs I read on the internet. Also, the dishwasher is very noisy - noisier than the 11 year broken dishwasher that it replaced. When I called Whirlpool, the customer service person said that "all" dishwashers now take 2 to 3 hours and need rinse aids. I later learned this is not true! Also the dishwasher has an odd way of operating: motor grinds on then stops, then grinds again and stops -- this repeatedly happens even if you do a test run without dishes.
