I live in an apartment and this machine is fantastic. I love it! I bought a portablility kit that allows me to attach wheels to the bottom as well as a Y connector for the kitchen sink. I roll over to sink and hook-up to use and when I am done I disconnect from sink and roll away to put it away until I need it again.

The laundry never got dry! After several drying cycles on various settings, and even different load sizes, I finally had to send the machine back because it was worthless. I got to new Whirlpools shipped to the same place for less than it took to send the dainty little combo unit! I guess LG must stand for "Liquid Gold," but you couldn't give me the machince for laundry cause I can wear them faster than it can clean them.

We had a stacked washer and dryer that finally gave out. We live in a condo in Chicago. Our space was limited-- the old unit barely had an inch breathing room. While we had a vent, water lines and a gas hookup for the dryer we decided to go with this unit. This decision took a long time given the varied reviews on the web and the looks of puzzlement from sales representatives and friends.

We have now run several loads in the machine and can tell you it dries the clothes evenly and completely. We make sure we do not fill the bin to capacity. The 'damp' feeling that other reviewers report is from the steam process and with one shake of the clothes, sheets, towels, etc., and the fabric is dry. It does take time the last two loads (including a set of bed linens took 2.5 hours to complete). There is one benfit of the drying process that no one seems to talk about. There is no static electricity.

We were very nervous about this machine, but at least in the first criteria it seems to have done the job. We do laundry everyday as it is. Time will tell about durability and long term savings.

As a bachelor I love this machine. It replaced a 2 unit stackable with a smaller unit. I plan to put shelves above it. Like other reviews, the clothing has a weird smell for the 1st 12 washes. There is some burn in oder. Its not out of control, but not great. It will go away. That being said, I would keep the 12 loads to towels, t-shirts & underwear. No high end clothes till it breaks in. It is really slow, but i put a load in in the morning with about a 4 hour start delay. When the load is done drying (3 hours) it will keep tumbling the load every 20 min for 4 hours after. So I come home & its good to go. Clothes feel wried when they come out if you have a old school dryer. They feel damp, but a few shakes & hang them up & i have never had softer & less wrinkle free cloths every. Bath towels are extra perfect. It will take you some time to master the dry times, as they will need more time.

This is a dual mode machine that is compact and fits in a very small space no other machine can do. However, I have had the machine replaced once only to have the same issue which is the clothes come out smelling burnt and/or wet instead of the fresh sent you normally expect, even with the use of two dryer sheets. This is the only machine that will fit in the space, so I must need to accept the fact that clothes are not going to come out as fresh as a typical washer dryer.

I would only recommend this machine if there is no other option in terms of space and utility.

First, if you are reading this review, you probably are in a situation that a unit like this would be very convenient. We live in a small ranch house with no basement and our former washer and dryer were in the kitchen, taking up a lot of space. A stackable was not an option, so we decided to get this and I am very happy with it. We are a family of 5, with 3 small children, and we do quite a bit of laundry. It does take a while for very large loads to wash and dry, around 4 hours, but smaller loads dry in 1.5-2 hours. I usually try to keep up on laundry so this is not a problem for me. But I do love the capacity of this. I can wash my huge king size mattress pad with no problem. I loaded it up with stuffed animals yesterday. It's quiet, energy efficient, uses less detergent, and plays a little song when the cycle is done. One draw back is that clothes are a little steamy at the end, which is great when I can take them out and give them a shake right away, the steam just goes away and the clothes are dry and it helps reduce wrinkles. If I can't get to them right away and they cool off in the machine, sometimes, depending on the load size, they are a little damp. But I am so glad we got this unit. It is so convenient and I love that I don't have to change loads from one machine to another and that I have so much more space in my kitchen now. Also, one other note, this machine is full size like any other HE machine. The smaller capacity is the perfect size to fit under a counter if you don't have a laundry room.

We bought this combo unit for our condo in Four Lakes and it works great. We now plan our clothes washing around our schedule instead of planning our schedule around our clothes washing. No hassle worry free clothes washing. Set the delay timer to finish your wash when you want it done and the unit does the rest. The sides do get a little hot during the drying cycle, otherwise no issues. Highly recommend.

This is the first review i have ever written for a product, mostly because the reviews for this product is what led me to buy it. This product is the perfect solution for any apartment where all you have is a water line. This fit into a small pantry in our apartment and we used the plumbing from the kitchen for the washer portion. You dont need a vent for drying, and the clothes come out dry. We were originally very worried because some reviews stated that the clothes come out damp, but that will only occur if you over stuff it. We are a family of 2 and wash clothes pretty regularly, and we can fit a normal sized load into the unit and it will come out dry. It does take abour 4-5 hours depending on the size, but if you go to work and come back you have dry clean clothes, same if you do it over night. Also the unit is quiet. We would definitely reccomend this to someone looking for a ventless solution to washing. Also, I dont think we would go back to a non-combo after experiencing the ease of this. I would definitely rather have two of these units than 2 separate washer/dryers even if the capacities were more. [...]. Aside from the legnth of cycle, this is a quality product.

I use my LG washer/dryer combo everyday. I love that it is so compact it fits into a small space in my bathroom linen closet in my apartment. The wide range of settings ensure my laundry comes out perfect every time. I don't mind that the machine takes a little longer than others to finish a full wash-dry cycle, because I don't have the pain of running up and down stairs or the bother of changing from wash to dry. This thing does it all. I wouldn't be surprised if some day I came home and the machine had folded my laundry for me.
