This PuR® Fast-Fill Refrigerator Water Filter is used in Whirlpool®, KitchenAid®, Maytag®, Amana®, and JennAir® Fast-Fill side-by-side refrigerators with filter access in the base grille and comes with two extra replacement filters. Simply press the release button to remove and replace the Refrigerator Water Filter. While retaining beneficial fluoride, this NSF® Certified Refrigerator Water Filter reduces chlorine taste and odor, particulates (class I), lead, and mercury. Replacing this Refrigerator Water Filter every 6 months ensures clean, safe drinking water. This package includes 2 Refrigerator Water Filters.

You should replace this Whirlpool refrigerator water filter every 6-9 months or if your water has a bad taste or odor.

I've never had a refrigerator that dispensed water/ice before so I didn't know about the filter. I was so glad that I got the postcard reminding me that I needed to replace the filter. What a difference in the water quality! That water tastes great! I had a hard time finding the filter (I was afraid it was going to be in the water line or something, it wasn't) and figuring out how it goes in and clicks in place but it'll be a piece of cake the next time - though it is near the floor and I don't do floors that well. Glad I bought the double filter unit so I'll have one on hand when this one needs to be replaced.

As alwasys ABT provided great service, and had the best price.
The problem is the filters are very expensive, and do not last very long. Depending on your usage, they might last longer, or shorter. When you consider 3 filters a year... it is approx $100 to use your fridge! In the future this will be a key decision, when I buy a new fridge.
