I am on my second frontloader and this one uses even less water than its predecessor. An American-made HE powder detergent worked well for me in the past, but it creates more sudsing than I am comfortable with in the new machine. Having grown up with Persil in Europe, I jumped at the chance to buy it in the US. I love that it doesn't suds at all! Washing performance seems very good, but I haven't had it long enough to determine if it's really better than the product I've used before. When I first opened the box, I found the smell a bit too strong, but over time, it has dissipated noticeably. I am still experimenting with the dosage, but it looks as though 1/2 cup is enough to clean a full load of laundry. That's a little less than indicated on the box, but slightly more than I use with the other detergent. At [$], it is more expensive than any other detergent I've used, and I have to see if the higher cost is worth it over time. Summary: My initial reaction is positive, but I might balk at the price in the future.

Been using it for 7 years. Since I started I've never had to use bleach...ever!
Whites are whiter than with clorox.
